This is the cartridge that is specifically made for use by the aqueon filter of its size. I have found that it really is the best one to use. I purchased a generic cartridge that claimed to be the same quality, but a better price. It wasnt same quality. In this case, and most cases, the cartridge made by the manufacturer is going to be best. Dont be fooled by the generic. They will cost you more in the end. Either by frequent changes, or poor filtration and loss of fish due to stress
