My goal was to utilize this as a backpack-bag for my ski boots. They fit in nice and easily. I put in my gloves, vest, facemask, hat, and other lightweight ski accessories on top of the boots and in the side pockets. The material is nice, as are the front and top handles. For anyone who has ever traveled by air to a ski destination, youll be able to sympathize with me for what happens next: I used this bag for the very first time this past weekend. I was flying out for two days with some friends to go skiing. Had my carry on in one hand, ski bag in another, and this on my back (utilizing its back-straps). After having it on for 15 minutes at the airport, I heard a snap, and this bag came crashing down. The plastic buckle piece on the strap had broken! I wasnt running, I wasnt jumping. When this happened I was merely standing in line to check in the ski and boot bags. Needless to say, for the rest of the trip, whenever I had to carry this along with the ski bag and my carry-on, I cursed Athalons name. Luckily my purchase was still within the Amazon return policy window; will be returning this and purchasing another boot bag. Preferably one that has sturdier buckles for the backpack straps.

This bag is truly beautiful and has loads of space. However, when packed with my figure skates, pads (elbow, knee, head protection) and water bottle, it is TOO heavy to carry by the handles or on my back. What a shame as it is very stylish. Going back to the company.

My husband told me he wouldnt use the (hidable) straps, but found them handy when he had to carry his own stuff and help another skier who had been injured. We did snip the stitching on one edge of the top inside fabric casing so we could melt the ends of the straps and handle more, given the reviews indicating that the handle ends can strip and pull out (thanks to reviewers who indicated this from their own experience!). We found that these ends could be melted more completely (my husband used a soldering iron for control, since the ends are short) so they couldnt strip and were fatter; my husband then tacked the casing back to the still-hot material, saving me some hand-sewing work. Everything else appeared very well made. He did have to write on it with a silver sharpie for labeling, as it has no built-in shipping tag and reviews say add-on strap ones tear off in airline transit. He had no problems whatever with this on his trip, and was amazed and amused at how much he could pack... and pack... and pack... into this after he had his boots and helmet in the appropriate compartments. He loved it! It carried everything his ski bag didnt. Definitely appreciate Athalons workmanship in general and would buy other products from them as needed.

The bag is huge and seems well constructed except for the handle. With ski/snowboard gears are quick heavy, especially ski boots, a bag packed full will snapped the carry handle on the top as it is only sewed lightly at the top. So if you dont rely on the top handle, you will be fine. Just hold the back strap or the entire bag.

this bag is awesome! there are two really sturdy handles on the outside and it holds everything I need for the day on the slopes like my pants, jackets, coats, extra shoes, snacks and so much more and the separate compartments for the boots are perfect and very roomy (i have size 240 ski boots and have a bit of room left)! there are tons of little zipper pockets all over the bag and even a compartment to put the back pack straps away if you arent going to use them! the back pack feature is what i really like most though, it makes carrying my skis and poles so much easier with two hands. I definitely recommend this bag! the only complaint i have is that its a pretty big bag and some of the ski places i go to have cubbies to put your stuff in and the bag is kinda hard to shove in but its definitly worth it!

This bag was a Christmas gift, so I didnt take a good look at it and wrapped the Amazon box. Only this weekend I got to see it, and was disappointed to find out that it wasnt even close to the color that I ordered... The bag seems nice but it was highly disappointing.

Very durable without being too heavy. Does the job and then some. Word of advice, order a unique color even if not your favorite. I saw this bag three times on my recent trip and accidentally picked up the wrong black bag not knowing it was not mine. Luckily the other person checked and realized they had mine.

I love this bag! The bag is really spacious and even when I have it packed full, the weight is distributed really well so it doesnt feel heavy at all. It has really nice cushion support on the back; its extremely comfortable to wear. I love that the boots have their own separate compartments so you dont have to worry about getting snow/dirt/wet on the other stuff in your bag. I can fit my boots, my helmet AND my daughters helmet, plus both of our mittens, goggles, hats, masks, etc. Then there is still room for a few additional pieces of clothing. The top has a zippered pocket on the outside and inside for smaller items that you want to keep handy. Plus there are little hooks throughout if you want to attached keys or something else for handy access. There are two pockets on the outside that I feel dont make a lot of sense. They are on each side of the boots. I was excited when I read about them, but when your boots are in there, its really a very tight squeeze to put anything in those side pockets. You certainly cant put anything hard (like goggles), but you could squeeze something fabric in there. (Maybe face masks or something.) But there is so much space inside the bag that I dont feel like those outside side pockets are even necessary. I have seen reviews about the top handle breaking/tearing. Ive only had mine for a week, but I will say the handle on the front (not the top) is extremely solid. So I might just avoid that top handle and use the front one for quick lifting. But mostly Ill be wearing it as a backpack anyway. This is a really great bag. Im very happy with my decision and highly recommend it!

We have 4 kids who all love to ski. They each needed a bag to store their gear. I bought one of these years ago. We tried a couple other brands and sent them all back. This is the ONLY ski bag we will use. Its big!! They can hold all of their gear. I really like the inside zipper pocket for them store their food money and anything else small so it doesnt get lost. I cant say enough about the great quality of this bag.

Athalon Everything Boot pack. The most comfortable, organized boot bag made today. Separate side entry boot sections. Reinforced hidden back pack straps. Expanding section for helmet. Waterproof bottom. Top and front carry handles. Front MP3 pocket w/ earphone outlet.  The most comfortable, organized, and useful boot bag on the market, the Athalon Everything boot pack offers space for just about all your ski gear save your skis themselves. The bag--which includes four padded lumbar back pads for comfort and support--is outfitted with a large main compartment with separate side-entry zippered boot sections, making it easy to slip your boots inside after a long day on the slopes. You also have plenty of room for other items thanks to the large expandable pocket, which can hold a ski helmet or jacket, and the bungee cords on the front for maps, goggles, and other accessories. Perhaps the most convenient feature for frequent skiers, however, is the pair of hidden, reinforced backpack straps, which make it easy to carry the boot pack to and from the parking lot. Other features include a waterproof tarp along the bottom to keep the bag and its contents from getting wet; a vented boot section with bottom drainage grommets; clips in each pocket for gloves, keys, and other small items; a front MP3 player pocket with an exterior earphone port; top and front carrying handles; matte chrome hardware; and a contoured shape that fits your boots perfectly. Lined with reflective piping to improve visibility on poorly lit days, the boot pack carries Athalon"s five-year warranty.
