02-06-2025I am using it to break #35 but the pin doesnt go all the way because it is too thick. I can only push the pin about 3/4 of the way and then I have to just hammer it the rest of the way. Maybe this would work better for smaller chains but I cant recommend it for #35.

> 3 dayThe chain breaker for 415 size chain is a device that pushes out the pins holding the links together. This device will only partially push the PIN out of its link nest, therefore you need to use a small punch to completely extract the pin to separate the links. It doesnt work as well as the tool for bicycle chain.

> 3 dayI needed this for an FTC robotics project which has #25 chain. We had this included aluminum thing that hardly worked. So I bought this. It looks a lot like the USA made breaker from McMaster which cost 4 times the price. It looks and feels solid and comes in a box which implies precision engineering, but its not precision engineered at all. The cam holes are very sloppy so that the gripper teeth neither center the chain nor after 2 or 3 uses are even able to hold on to it tight enough while pushing the pin down. So the pin neither stays center and Im not entirely sure that this would fit in the #25 chain anyhow -- the teeth are just too large. It did break the chain multiple times, to the point that they werent remotely usable afterwards. Im now taking a recommendation from my robotics forum and bought a DarkSoul chainbreaker.

> 3 daySpecialty tools are typically expensive, for the price I was worried. Broke 2 50 roller chains and 2 30 roller chains with ease. The pin didnt break or mushroom like people reviewed. They must not know what they are doing. It does include an extra pin also. Worth the money and will get the job done.

> 3 dayIts not big enough to actually fully detach the chain on a #40 dollar chain. It can loosen the pins so you can get it apart, but if youre trying to completely remove the pin between the links, its not going to work, the pin isnt long enough to push it all the way out.

Greater than one weekGreat product, actually was sold a small aggravating one from local motorcycle shop for $10 more than this one. Returned it and waited on this one to ship to me, glad I did, so much easier and includes replacement tips.

> 3 dayWorked really well better then other methods of taking apart a chain. I like that they send you an extra point for the tool but kinda wish they would drill the center of one of the handles to use as a storage space for the extra tip.

> 3 dayThis did not seem to be the correct tool for my sliding gates #40 chain, probably works better on smaller chains but still got the job done.
