Greater than one weekThis is just what it says it is: a mat with a sort of tacky, oil-proof backing which keeps it from slipping. Just hose it off if you spill anything. It also works well in other areas of the garage/workshop where spills might be a problem.

> 3 dayI requested the Dossetop Oil Spill Mat (36 X 30) as a preventative measure. I wanted to keep my garage floor looking pristine. The Dossetop oil spill mat is lightweight and easy to lift up, carry, and lay down. I placed it under my 2013 Hyundai Elantras engine block. The non-slip backing keeps it from sliding around. My car is built well. So far, no leaks or spills of any fluids. However, my lawnmower began leaking oil, and I quickly placed the Dossetop oil spill mat underneath it. It does a great job of catching and trapping the oil. The oil does not seep through the mat and damage my garage floor. The mat can also be cut down to size if it is too large. Also, I can easily pick up the Dossetop oil spill mat , carry it outside, and clean it with a scrub brush and bucket of sudsy water. The mat quickly dried after I draped it over a balcony railing at my parents house. They live across the street from me. Therefore, even if your car isnt leaking oil (or other automobile fluids), it is nice to have the Dossetop oil spill mat in case your lawnmower or golf cart (or whatever piece of machinery you keep in your garage) begins leaking oil. I have an ordinary concrete garage floor but some of my friends have spent a lot of money on epoxy floors. The Dossetop oil spill mat would make a great gift for the mechanic in your life.

> 3 dayGreat to use so any oil or fluid leaks don’t ruin the garage floor. It has a backing so fluids will not go through the absorbent felt.

> 3 dayThis was a little thinner and flimsier than I expected. Dont get me wrong, it WILL DO THE JOB, but I was just imagining it to be a bit thicker and sturdier. I guess if you get too thick, it would be hard to roll up. I worry that if I get any oil on the fabric side, it will make a mess - but so far I havent had any trouble. It is strong enough and it rolls up easily, and definitely protects your garage floor. I feel like if it were heavier, you could just leave it down under a leaky car or vehicle. But this seems like it wouldnt stay in place for long-term use like that, so you would need to probably find something different if you wanted to do that. But I change the oil in my Corvette and I definitely appreciate having a spill mat underneath because my car has TWO oil drain plugs (PLUS the oil filter itself) so it can get messy very easily. Ill be using it again soon because the oil change light has just come on again so I am due. Ill post additional comments after I change the oil if there are any problems or positive things I find when doing the project. ONE OTHER THING - we have a lot of critters in our house. Ferrets in particular, and I cant help but think this might be useful in trying to keep their mess to a minimum. I am thinking we could use it to put under the litter boxes... Or under food bowls, or even a whole bottom level of one of their cages, which are rather large. So this could have other uses as well. Thank you for reading my review. I take my reviews very seriously and I think it is super important for us to share our experiences on Amazon so that we can help each other out to spot products that dont live up to their claims, and ALSO to share great products with one another so we can find the right products to make our lives easier. I feel like the Amazon review process is a great way to share this information and I try to do the best job I can when I write a review. I am not perfect though, so if there is anything I have left out, or that you have a question for me about the product or my review, PLEASE feel free to visit my Amazon Profile and e-mail me at the address there and I will try to get back to you as quickly as possible! Thank you for reading my review and I hope it has been helpful.

> 3 dayI think this oil mat will come in handy for many things because of it’s size and flexibility. One side is vinyl, and the other side looks like felt, but is a different material. It’s a nice thickness to catch oil if it is dripping from your car when parked or to put under the sink when the disposal or drain is clogged. However, I was a bit surprised by the thinness of the mat. It would be nice if it was just a little thicker. Because of its flexibility, it will be easy to move around and fold up slightly to dump the contents. I think the price is very fair, too, based on other comparable products and that it’s reusable after spraying off with soap and water. Overall, recommended.

> 3 dayMy 2005 car has an oil leak and I am about 40,000 miles away from getting it fixed. With the passage of time. so continues the accumulation of oil on my garage floor. This mat is exactly what I needed. It has a rubber side that keeps it in place and prevents the oil drips from leaking through. I have used it for about a week and it is no where near being saturated in any area. When it does need cleaning, I will take it outside, hose it off, let it dry, and put it back to work. I love that the size is manageable by one person and the mat can be reused.

> 3 dayPaid $15 for the mat. I ordered it because I was looking for something that would be heavy duty/thick to use to line my tool chest. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed. The material is not thick at all --- you are better off using a generic kitchen liner which will be of better quality. Not even worth $5. Look elsewhere.
