I never realized how very funny the writing was for the 1966 movie. I remember it being very camp (a stigma that movies about comic book heroes had to endure for some time), but having watched it again last night for the first time in many a year, I found myself laughing at a lot of its outrageous gags (one of my favorites was when they report they are just passing the Benedict Arnold Monument, like someone in America would build a monument to Arnold, LOL). The picture quality for the Blu-ray high def release is excellent, with vibrant colors and the audio is good. There are a number of extras that fill out the disc. There are two commentaries, one by screenwriter Lorenzo Semple, Jr., and the other with Adam West and Burt Ward. There is a short featurette with George Barris, creator of the Batmobile. An interactive map of locations can be played while watching the movie, and while the map spotlights can jump from Santa Barbara (for the wharf where Batman runs with the bomb) to the studio in Culver City where interiors were shot there is an option to pull up factoids, photos, and map directions to the locations. There are featurettes on the heroes and the villains, and more. All in all, a fun Blu-ray disc to purchase.

Excellent adaptation of the awesome tv show to the Big Screen! Nice to go back in time to this classic movie and tv series when Superhero films were not as dark as today, but full of humour, puns, big words and a sense of humor/camp. Adam West, Burt Ward and Company are perfect, or shall I say purrr-fect in their roles. Upon my umpteenth viewing, I really appreciate how the film takes some breathing room to develop more of Bruce Waynes romantic side. Too bad hes/Batman is being foiled and fooled again by Catwoman. The colors, the camera angles, the sets are amazing, not to mention expanding the television series in its use of not just the Batmobile, but the bat-copter and bat-boat. The pace moves well and the ending is far more interestingly absurd than one might imagine even by the shows standards.

Adam West is the best Batman ever. Sadly, these days the only version of Batman that you see is the dark one, which is inappropriate for young children. Batman has had so many interpretations throughout the years and the 1960s series is a great representation of his cheesy years. This movie captures all of the silliness of the show in one fun narrative that includes 4 major villains. I love dark Batman, especially Michael Keaton, but if your in the mood for a refreshingly lighter take that you can enjoy with your small kids or goof on with your nerdy comic book friends, then Adam West is your Batman.

Corny but it is a good manifestation of the 60s ideas of Batman. This is the movie made from the 60sTV show. The classic show has all the earmarks of the time, with the villains played in a very campy and humorous way. The bumbling police chief is as funny as ever. And Alfreds calmness as he maintains the secrecy of the dual identities around poor clueless Aunt Harriet.

I remember watching the reruns of the show back in the 80s. Loved it. Then I watched then again in the 90s. Funny thing is I had never really seen this movie. Id seen clips of it but never in its entirety. Movie is great, still holds its humor and adventure after all this time. Definitely a movie for a simpler, less technology rich time. Nostalgia probably has a lot to do with it honestly, but I still highly recommend it.

I rented this for viewing with a Girlfriend and her two Grandsons ( 11 and 9 ). We watched it for about 45 minutes and they ( the boys ) got up and left the room. We watched it for a few more minutes and I got a peck on the Cheek and an at-a-boy for my effort. Just about then we heard some commotion coming from the other end of House. When we went to see what was going on the two Boys where play fighting like Batman and Robin. Im not kidding, their Mother went looking for the camera and said lets get a picture before they go back to their x-box. They tired out and wanted to watch it from the beginning, which we did. I had not watched this since I was their age ... this Movie is pure magic.

Great vintage movie! The first Batman I ever meet, I saw the show in the 80s (Im 40) so this movie bring me good memories, in this movie you can see the Joker, Cat Woman, the Penguin and the Riddler, but sadly no one really shows their evilness, I prefer by far the 60s show.

When Batman (Adam West) and Robin (Burt Ward) get a tip that Commodore Schmidlapp (Reginald Denny) is in danger aboard his yacht, they launch a rescue mission. But the tip is a set-up by four of the most powerful villians ever, who seek to defeat the Dynamic Duo once and for all! Armed with a dehydrator that can turn humans into dust, the fearsome foursome intends to take over the world! Can the Caped Crusaders use their high-flying heroism and groovy gadgetry to declaw Catwoman (Lee Meriwether), ice the Penguin (Burgess Meredith), upstage the Joker (Cesar Romero), and stump the Riddler (Frank Gorshin) in time?
