Great vintage movie! The first Batman I ever meet, I saw the show in the 80s (Im 40) so this movie bring me good memories, in this movie you can see the Joker, Cat Woman, the Penguin and the Riddler, but sadly no one really shows their evilness, I prefer by far the 60s show.

The story doesnt hold up as it once did and the camp is over the top for 2015. The stars are for the great quality print in HD. I bought this to see if I should buy the expensive TV series on blu ray. Now, I will pass. Im sorry, Adam West is the worlds biggest over actor! I will watch the series if it comes on TV, mostly to see the best Batmobile and killer theme song. This movie has all the best villains and for casual fans like me, is all you need. I have to laugh at 50 year old men who regard this as cult fans. I know a few! They know all the villains and every cameo that pokes out the window on Batman & Robins wall scaling! To sum up the review, If you want the best episode, here it is! Just enough camp and enough of Adam West to handle! They did a great job restoring it for HD!

Yes, its silly but youre probably not going to watch it unless you are a fan of the TV series as well. I bought this on DVD several years ago as a fix until the series became available. Its still too expensive for me to buy the whole show on either blu ray or DVD but the movie has all the same characters and bat-gadgets crammed into one goofy package. The quality of the streaming was really good and we dont have the best quality wifi signal in our house. Recommended as a diversion to chores or on a rainy day.

I never realized how very funny the writing was for the 1966 movie. I remember it being very camp (a stigma that movies about comic book heroes had to endure for some time), but having watched it again last night for the first time in many a year, I found myself laughing at a lot of its outrageous gags (one of my favorites was when they report they are just passing the Benedict Arnold Monument, like someone in America would build a monument to Arnold, LOL). The picture quality for the Blu-ray high def release is excellent, with vibrant colors and the audio is good. There are a number of extras that fill out the disc. There are two commentaries, one by screenwriter Lorenzo Semple, Jr., and the other with Adam West and Burt Ward. There is a short featurette with George Barris, creator of the Batmobile. An interactive map of locations can be played while watching the movie, and while the map spotlights can jump from Santa Barbara (for the wharf where Batman runs with the bomb) to the studio in Culver City where interiors were shot there is an option to pull up factoids, photos, and map directions to the locations. There are featurettes on the heroes and the villains, and more. All in all, a fun Blu-ray disc to purchase.

I saw this movie when it first came out in theatres. This movie never ceases to amaze me. Although the TV series was intended for youths, it did very well in the ratings amoungst adults - including myself ater it went into sydnication. I bought this DVD a few weeks ago and I still laugh at this campy movie. The DVD includes an additional track on the movie that a person can turn on that has Adam West and Burt Ward doing an audio commentary. Although I am much older now I still laugh at the silliness of this movie. Is there anything that Batman does not carry in his utility belt. And shark repellant (and other unlikely sprays) in a helicopter? Theres something you dont see every day but I strong recommend seeing this movie.

This version of Batman made in the mid-1960 was corny and campy, with bad acting. But I love the costumes, and all the bat gadgets, and the super villains who went toe to toe with Batman and Robin. The super villains are great campy characters, and good entertainment for some mindless fun. And Robin played by Burt Ward is so gosh darn golly good; he is the biggest cornball you will ever meet. It is hilarious. And of course Adam West who plays Batman takes himself way too seriously. Amazon Instant Video does not sell or rent the TV show version of this incarnation of Batman, but maybe they should. After all nostalgia sells well.........................

Ok, I remember the TV show and made sure that I was front and center of our black and white 19 TV. And, I also remember seeing this film in our local movie theater one Saturday matinee. And, I was too giddy at seeing my favorite TV show on a big screen and in color, that the details escaped me. So, one night recently, I saw the movie available on Prime. I clicked and sat back. I smiled and shook my head: how did I miss all these things? And, in the first 15 minutes I had a laundry list of mistakes and shortcomings. For example, there is a scene when Batman descends down a helicopters ladder--and for those of us who have rappelled or fast roped down a moving helicopter that is one of the scariest things I did--that I burst. Impossible. Then when Robin overshot the LZ of the yacht they were chasing and Batman sank into the water, what appears to be a shark--yes, it is very poorly made rubberized fake--attacks Batman. I said to myself, well, at the time, that was exciting! So, if you watched the TV show in black and white in 1966, saw this at the movie theater, take a trip, back in time, and sit back and smile.

This is the first single non combo Blu Ray I ever bought and I have to agree with commentary that nobody truly does campy as well as the classic Batman. Other that Jack Nicholson in 1989 Batman this movie has my favorite version of The Joker and for sure my favorite version of The Penquin. The way Blu ray sets up the special features differently from regular DVDs still takes some getting use to for me but I like both versions of commentary giving insight on the films and all the other extras on the batmobile and stuff. The story in simple as Joker, Penquin, Riddler and Catwoman team up for their greatest crime evil. Like an episode of the original Star Trek series where aliens dehydrated the Enterprise crew into crystals the criminals dehydrate the world leaders of a fictional version of United Nations into different colored power dust to hold ransom. The movie puts all the bat vechiles in the movie such as the bat copter, bat boat, bat cycle. Between their headquarters above a bar at the docks and Penquins submarine base the crooks seem to remain one step ahead of the dynamic duo till the very end of the film and come closer to destroying the cape crusaders than they ever did in the TV series. The only think that would make this movie perfect would of been if it came along late enough to of had Yvonne Craig star as her Batgirl character in it. She was the only person I missed watching the film.

A little long, but full of the kind of fun that the Batman series started. It has some overly funny sequences, such as the fake shark that clamps onto Batmans leg and will not let go; and the bomb chase that has Batman running while carrying a smoking bomb along a pier, trying desperately to dispose if it, but being thwarted over and over by civilians who keep getting in the way to prevent it. The movie also features four of Batmans arch enemies.
