Bell Mens Star/Vortex/RS-1 and Revolver Helmet Faceshield, One Size, Dark Smoke

I got my monarch Bell helmet a few months ago. My biggest concern is protecting from sun damage to my skin. Ive been on enough cross country rides that have done damage over the years that I really needed to switch from my half helmet. Even though the stock shield claimed to be protective from UV rays, it seemed to still allow me to get more color than I wanted. This shield was exactly what I needed and now I am definitely comfortable riding all day without any issues!

I recently got the Revolver in gloss black and althou a great and afordable helmet as it is i felt the clear shield had to go. The Dark smoke looks pretty wicked but i was lookign for something that would not only look awesome but allow me to ride at night too. When the sun goes down i can ride in the city without any noticeable darkening and even on a dark highway i can still see pretty good (i do have HIDs on my bike thou) Out in the sun the mirror finish reflection is not complete but pretty solid, there is some slight seethrough depending on the angle but overall i would say that this shield works perfectly and as i wished it would, offering me daytime shade from the sun and barely noticeable darkening at night. After about 2 months of riding the surface has also held up great, no scratches or peeling (im not sure if the mirror finish is a film or part of the plastic) and ive bumped it a few times and hit some bug going pretty fast, just clean with some soapwater and a microfiber cloth and good as new.

Great visor, easy to install and looks awesome.

Loved this visor; however, it feel from my handle bar onto the smooth garage floor and scratched off the iridium on an entire side. $70 down the drain :( Dark gold is not the color either, very teal. Ended up purchasing the dark silver and love so far. These provide more sun protection than the dark smoke I have too.

The unit was similar to the one originally attached to the helmet. It gave me excellent vision as expected. However, attaching it to the helmet was a considerable issue. Initially, I had no problems while attaching on one side. But while trying to attach it on the remaining side, it wouldnt completely fit properly inside the hole. It seems as though the entire unit is slightly warped. Still, even with it not fitting snugly, it holds decently and doesnt tend to come loose altogether and fall off. Just means that I need to invest in a second (better) helmet as the one I have isnt the best one can buy. Okay with it for now.

I have not used it yet in humid weather, the install was a little tricky but not bad, you have to bend the pinlock insert slightly to get it in. the visor is easy to connect to the helmet. I was disappointed when I went our and noticed a scratch on the visor already. on my first trip with it, I did notice the Pinlock insert interfere slightly with my view, It was not a lot and I soon got used to it. I did notice that when the sun shine into my helmet it distorted my view slightly. I think this visor would work well under humid or rainy conditions but you should use your regular visor during sunny days

Pros: -Looks absolutely stunning!!!(huge emphasis) -Comes with anti-fog features -Tinted on the inside to help combat being Sun-blind -Girls cant see you creeping Cons: -Smudges extremely easily -While usable during nighttime conditions, its fairly dangerous. Highly recommend having a non-tinted visors to switch out when night-riding. The visor looks fantastic. Just make sure you have a soft cloth handy to wash the loads of fingerprints this thing attracts(use water only!). Also take care if using it at night.
