Bethany Housewares 760 Lefse Starter Kit - Aluminum

I am an experienced lefse maker and was treating myself to a brand new lefse grill. The cord has to be propped up with something in order to make contact and stay on. Our lefsa day was a disaster because the grill kept shutting off and got cold without one person holding the cord going into the grill.

I bought this primarily for the pin and griddle. I use my family lefse recipe and they came out great this year. We ended up doing three different batches in December, and all of them came out as good as ever. I havent tried the lefse mix that came with this kit, but everything else is top notch. The thermostat on the griddle is a bit sketchy (it doesnt seem to hold temp really well so we were constantly tweaking it), but theres a presto unit thats a direct replacement and thats the only change Ill be making for next year.

The grill certainly didnt seem to reach its 500 degree temperature, twice Ive made lefse on this grill and it just isnt hot enough, really was looking forward to having my own grill again, but sadly this isnt it.

Just what I was looking for as a gift. Has everything one needs for making lefse.

First the grill is a proven performer known for excellence thats a known fact. This kit has everything youll need! Now a word about the included premixes Ive never used before this. Everything youll need (other than butter) is in that little bag, two pouches one with dried potato flakes and cream. The 2nd is just flour. You boil water, add your butter then mix in bag 1, then wait until cool, then add bag 2 and fold, seeking to make 20 small balls. The amount was perfect for what I needed, I ended up with 20 lefses but all mine were 70% size since I wanted to start small. I think if I would have gone for a full size (dinner plate size) it would only make 15 lefses or so. Taste! So, to me they tasted the same and I couldnt tell them from the raw potato way. I took my whole batch to one of my kids (4–30-year olds) birthday party, all grew up eating them and they loved them. Id give this mix a 100% grade, its quick and easy, much less to do and youre done. Now I have to make more! My 2022 New Years resolution is to make Lefse very often and deliver it to the parents of my grandkids in an effort to hook them on the taste.

The ease in which the dough rolls out. Super happy with this item. It was ordered by mistake now I feel the only mistake was not getting it sooner!
