These are so much better than ratchet straps. I had my first set for about 2 years. I launched the boat about 10 to 15 times in fresh water only. After two years there was no corrosion and no issues. Unfortunately, I had to buy a replacement when my trailer got side swiped. I guess they are not bullet proof!
