I really enjoy this movie as I am a fan of all imaginary lands. The ending, however... Well, I wont spoil it but... It wasnt what I expected.

Casting & acting (even small roles) were very well done, especially Hutcherson and Robb. I read the book many years ago and dont remember it enough to compare to this movie. Special effects were excellent, just the right amount and not over the top, which I believe can ruin an otherwise great movie. I would recommend this movie to everyone 12 yrs and older. There are many very real life situations portrayed that allow for great discussions for parents & kids.

I havent seen this movie since it came out in 2007. And back 7 years ago I was only 8 or so, so I couldnt remember much of it but the general concept of it. So I decided to watch it again, after having a long stressful day. Honestly put me to tears, to put it into perspective, Im a 15 year old guy, but Im the sensitive type. Honestly the best movie, and I think me re-watching it put it at my favorite movie replacing the Hunger Games movies. Not much I can say about it. Its a good movie to watch if youre just having a bad day and need something to brighten your mood.

Its very rare that a movie is so true to life and so well done. As it deals with death issues, Id recommend parents of young children watch the movie with them to explain the loss of Leslie and aftermath. There is so much in this movie that can be discussed with children as a teaching tool. This movie will be around for a long time, thank you for offering the movie and all the people who had a hand in filming it.

As an over-50 adult who loves to go with my imagination, I totally bought into this movie. If you let yourself simply believe you can travel into Teribithia with the characters and have no doubt that it is real. The only negative I have to mention is that I think the sadness (Im trying not to give away too much here for those who havent seen the movie) brought into the movie near the end is unnecessary. This movie is intended as a family movie, and throwing that element in is not only sad, its a bit disconcerting. Instead of walking away saying I loved it and it was filled with wonderful imagination!, I walked away saying, WHY did they put THAT in there! It actually made me and my viewing partner angry.

This was a great movie to watch! I have not read the book yet, so I was under the impression that the movie was going to be a bit moody, scary at times, and sad, but I think ultimately it is a great movie to watch. I dont think it is very sad or scary. I think it teaches lots of lessons about how you can develop your imagination, share with friends, and appreciate your friends that you have for what they are. While the story is quite moving, I think when you are looking at the message in general you kind of separate yourself from the specific episodes of the movie, and look deeper, and that is what I really liked about it. The movie did not make me too sad or upset. It was also not scary at all. I loved it! Hope you are going to watch it and enjoy as well!

Based on Katherine Paterson"s young-adult novel and filmed in picturesque New Zealand, Bridge to Terabithia has lessons to impart about empathy and self-expression, but the tone is never heavy-handed. Jesse (sleepy-eyed Josh Hutcherson, Zathura), a fifth-grade loner, lives in the country with his parents and four sisters, including pesky May Belle (Bailee Madison), who adores him. His strict father (Robert Patrick, The Terminator 2) works in a hardware store. Money is tight and classmates make fun of his hand-me-downs, so Jesse finds refuge in running and drawing. Everything changes when two writers and their daughter Leslie (wide-eyed AnnaSophia Robb, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) move in next door. Leslie is faster than all the boys, which initially puts Jesse off, but the two soon bond over their love of make-believe. In the forest, they find a creek that can only be crossed by rope. Leslie names the land on the other side Terabithia, where they imagine themselves rulers of the kingdom. Jesse and Leslie also connect with their unconventional music teacher, Ms. Edmonds (Zooey Deschanel, Elf), who encourages their creativity. Despite the tension at home, Jesse"s personal life is finally coming together when the unthinkable happens. Will he revert to his anti-social ways or will he grow from the experience? Though aimed at all ages, pre-school students may find Terebithia"s creatures frightening. For grade-school kids and up, however, there"s much to savor in this smartly written, sensitively acted film. --Kathleen C. Fennessy
