> 3 dayI got this Brook Wingman SD for my Dreamcast and Saturn. I am currently using my Sony DualShock 3 wireless controller with it and it is working fantastic. I had an issue with using the DualShock 3s trigger buttons at first with the Dreamcast, but eventually it came to be that the adapter was set to Arcade Stick mode instead of regular gamepad mode. I was able to switch it to gamepad mode by pressing Select + Triangle on the DualShock 3. A green light would come on the adapter. All of this information is on their website, but very confusingly placed and arranged. I wish they would spend a bit more money and ship the adapter with printed instructions or spend some time to make their website more usable or have the instructions in a PDF. Also, please update the firmware on the device before using just to be safe. Otherwise, great device. 4/5 due to the lack of clear instruction which would confuse users into thinking the device is broken or else 5/5.

> 3 dayIt does what’s on the tin and more. Absolutely worth it if you want to use a Bluetooth M30 with your Saturn (FYI, 8bitdo offers a setting to swap A and B to make this happen). Compatibility is great with my PS4 controller as well. Buttons are easy to remap using the unit. After months of use, mine died. I suspect it may be because I connected up a USB keyboard (bonus feature, not advertised) that drew too much current. Stick to the features on the box, I guess. If you must try a keyboard, use an ordinary one with no lights/macro features which could draw amps. Since I was within warranty, I reached out to Brook’s support. They did ask for pictures and video of the fault, which wasn’t a big deal as there is probably a language barrier. Once they figured it was defective, they sent me a new one with an extremely quick turnaround (a day or two?) despite coming from Taiwan. Don’t sleep on Brook, folks.

> 3 dayUsing my Xbox controller on the Saturn was amazing. My Saturn 3d Controller has stopped working and this help brings life to Nights, Panzer Dragoon, and Virtual Cop. Also using an arcade stick on this brings new life to street fighter alphas, UMK3, and virtua fighters. Good times, even more so on the Dreamcast, the extra 200 blocks of memory is an amazing bonus + rumble. Cannot go wrong with this if you own two of the last consoles that Sega made.

> 3 dayBrook is an incredible company. I wanted to play the Dreamcast BOR Games, including the Splatterhouse Trilogy, with this converter and a arcade stick plugged into it, and it didnt work. I emailed the company and in about one day, Brook fixed the problem with a firmware update and now these games work perfect with an arcade stick.

Greater than one weekThis thing is insane! I was highly satisfied to find out that rumble is supported while using my Xbox One controller with Dreamcast. Playing Hydro Thunder was a whole new experience. I was even happier when I plugged in my Neo Geo Arcade Stick Pro via USB and was able to play Marvel vs Capcom on both Saturn and Dreamcast (Had to update firmware for the Neo Geo ASP to work with Saturn). To top it off, the adapter includes 200 blocks of VMU memory built in. This is not some cheap throw-away adapter and I couldnt be happier. Worth every penny. Update: The thing that surprised me the most, though, was that the right analog stick (which the Dreamcast never had) actually functions. I figured this out while playing XenoCrisis which is a twin stick shooter. On retro systems, like the Dreamcast, you are left using the face buttons (A, B, X, Y) to aim and fire your weapon. Because the folks behind the Brook Wingman SD adapter had the foresight to map the face buttons (including diagonals which is achieved by pressing two face buttons simultaneously on retro systems), to the right analog stick, this thing plays the same as it does on Xbox One and other modern consoles. The only question I have yet to answer is if a generic USB keyboard will work for Typing of the Dead.

> 3 dayI purchased this to specifically use my Xbox One & PS4 arcade fight sticks on my dreamcast. I actually own 2 official dreamcast arcade sticks but Im trying to downsize my collection a bit. I owned up to 14 sticks at a time. So, with this solution from Brook, I can now get rid of two more sticks from my collection. The one thing I was most concerned about was using a VMU and its great to see they added 200 blocks of memory into this adapter. I tested out a DualShock 4 and Xbox One Elite controller as well and they all work 100%. Great product, highly recommended.

> 3 dayThe Wingman SD is a super-handy little device that not only transforms your Saturn/Dreamcasts controller port into a standard USB female port, but provides bluetooth functionality, as well. But where will you plug your Dreamcasts VMU, you ask? Brook decided to solve that by building 200 units of Dreamcast memory into their device. You can back your VMU files up on your PC using the downloadable utility, also. I use the Wingman primarily with my Mayflash F500 Elite fightstick and a Retro-Bit Sega Genesis 6-button USB controller, and neither required any configuration! This thing rules!

> 3 dayI have an arcade stick with the Brook Universal Fighting Board, and actually, both pieces of hardware work fine, but the way they made the button layout on the Wingman SD makes no sense for any modern stick. So most modern sticks layout goes like this (talking arcade button layout) 1, 2, 3, 4 5, 6, 7, 8 The Wingman SD links Dreamcast L to 3 and 7 and links R to 4 and 8... Which means, you cant do a standard arcade layout unless you manually rewire your buttons inside your stick, which I dont mind, but the way they did the default layout is not right at all. You can remap buttons, but good luck trying to decipher their manual. At least the PCB of the adapter is lagless, and I can pull off combos very good on SNK games, but 6 button fighters are a problem.

> 3 dayWas worried Id have to remap buttons and fumble my way through instructions. On the contrary. Right out of the box it worked with my retro bit Sega Saturn pad. No remapping. No hassle. No lag. Couldnt believe it. Havent tested it with other controllers since it worked immediately regarding its intended purpose. Perhaps Ill update my review. Packaging was awesome and came with cool prism stickers. 45ish bucks was way worth it.
