I used this with my Mayflash F500 joystick and the best part is that it supports rumble as well! I also tested an 8bitdo adapter connected to a Wiimote that has a PS2 PCB connected to it and it works great(this method also supports rumble through the Wiimote)! The rumble feature alone for me makes the Dreamcast version of MVC2 better than the PS3 HD version. The built in VMU is also nice since you can transfer your saves to your PC. 100% recommend this adapter if you have a Dreamcast.

I was looking for a Dreamcast keyboard and gawking at the prices. Then I learned about this little device that would allow me to use ANY USB keyboard with the Dreamcast, act as a 200 block memory card, and offer me a whole swath of controller options for my Dreamcast and Saturn to boot. It’s a fantastic peripheral, useful for so many things. My one and only criticism is that the USB slot is pretty tight and I hope I don’t wear down the contacts over time.

Tested a mechanical keyboard on dreamcast, no more official mushy keyboard, you can use any keyboard for Typing of the Dead. Did not test much on saturn but it probably works fine with regular controllers.

The Wingman SD is a super-handy little device that not only transforms your Saturn/Dreamcasts controller port into a standard USB female port, but provides bluetooth functionality, as well. But where will you plug your Dreamcasts VMU, you ask? Brook decided to solve that by building 200 units of Dreamcast memory into their device. You can back your VMU files up on your PC using the downloadable utility, also. I use the Wingman primarily with my Mayflash F500 Elite fightstick and a Retro-Bit Sega Genesis 6-button USB controller, and neither required any configuration! This thing rules!

I have an arcade stick with the Brook Universal Fighting Board, and actually, both pieces of hardware work fine, but the way they made the button layout on the Wingman SD makes no sense for any modern stick. So most modern sticks layout goes like this (talking arcade button layout) 1, 2, 3, 4 5, 6, 7, 8 The Wingman SD links Dreamcast L to 3 and 7 and links R to 4 and 8... Which means, you cant do a standard arcade layout unless you manually rewire your buttons inside your stick, which I dont mind, but the way they did the default layout is not right at all. You can remap buttons, but good luck trying to decipher their manual. At least the PCB of the adapter is lagless, and I can pull off combos very good on SNK games, but 6 button fighters are a problem.

As with all other Brooks devices that I have tried so far, this method of using devices designed for other systems has been nearly flawless for me and tends to be much more reliable and generally less expensive than using third-party controllers.

It’s not often that I take the time to write a review about a product but as soon as I experienced how easy it was to get this to work with the PS4 controller, I knew I had to write some thing to help others. All you have to do, is plug this in to your system, press the middle button to put it in pairing mode and then put your controller in pairing mode. After a few seconds, they are perfectly matched up! Heres how the buttons line up on the PS4 DualShock: - PS button is START - Left analog stick is the Dreamcast’s analog stick - Right analog stick replicates the actions of the 4 buttons - 4 buttons are same as Dreamcast controller - Both left triggers operate as a left trigger - Both right triggers operate as a right trigger - Top touchpad is disabled - Share is disabled - Options is same as START Absolutely LOVE this device and works perfectly. I prefer the PS4 controller as it does not show any letters on the buttons but if you have an Xbox controller, it matches up exactly with how the Dreamcast was. Hope this helps someone!

Im in absolute love with this, as it lets me use any keyboards and arcade sticks, as the official ones are getting more expensive and harder to find. Also, I can finally back up my memory cards to my pc XD

Thigh I didnt order my wingman from Amazon, Im a very satisfied owner and want to get this out there for as many people as possible. I custom ordered a Xbox controller from Xbox labs to look like a Dreamcast controller with the colored buttons, I did my best to make it resemble the DC controller. I also ordered a solid orange replacement guide button along with custom vinyl Dreamcast spirals to go over the buttons so I could paint the button black then remove the vinyl for a light up orange spiral instead of the white Xbox guide....Then my heart sank when I found that it wouldnt connect to the wingman and that its due to the Xbox controller firmware update. I sat on this for a couple of months and just now, I got the idea to try my 8bitdo receiver that was sitting around after seeing a My Mate Vince YouTube video of him using multiple controller adapters to use a 360 controller on the Wii... And it works... My mind is blown. if you plug in the black 8bitdo USB Bluetooth receiver, you can pair the new low power Bluetooth series s/x and late model Xbox one controller, which isnt capable of connecting to the V2 Wingman SD after a recent Xbox controller update...Just plug in the adaptor, push the button on the 8bitdo adaptor to go into pairing mode and then put the Xbox controller into pairing mode and it syncs up just fine. Home this is valuable to others

There are wireless options for the Saturn, for which this works for as well, but for the Dreamcast there arent many. It works well once set up, but the instructions confused me. If they made clearer instructions, its be a 5/5 stars.
