> 3 dayArrived in working order. But the transfer speed seems ancient. Im currently transferring about 60gb to it, and its going to take 30 minutes, at 35-40 MB/s. Fair warning. Still happy with the sale price, though.

> 3 dayNice unit. Plugs into USB 3.0 no problem. I have three.. Works with Linux (Ubuntu) as EXT4. No need for power brick. Honors shutdown (power down) command. Doing that puts device in standby reducing power requirements and runs cooler. Nice white activity led. Not much larger then a USB flash drive.

> 3 daySpec wise this is a very nice portable SSD. But that’s where my praise ends. With the plethora of other SSD manufacturers on the market I expected a lot more from Buffalo. The housing of the SSD feels extremely cheaply made. So much so that the red push knob/button rattles all the time unless you are applying pressure to it. I have used $9 retractable USB drives that have had a better feel to them with zero noise. Lastly, be prepared to spend about 15-20 minutes trying to remove the protective plastic membrane encompassing the device. I have never encountered such an insanely difficult protective plastic like this before. In the end, 99% of customers will be pleased with the device. But, as someone who wanted to give 10 of these devices out as gifts where impressions mattered I was very let down.

> 3 dayI’ve only been using the backup drive for a couple months but in that time I’ve transferred some very large files fairly quickly and without any issue. It’s worked flawlessly thus far and keeping my fingers crossed that it continues to work well for a long time.

> 3 dayThe drive itself is fine and works as expected, no issues here. I purchased 2 of these drives to use on my MacBook Pro, which is why the Thunderbolt option was appealing. However what is not mentioned is there is not a Thunderbolt cable, but a very flimsy USB to Thunderbolt adapter, that broke for both my drives and left the metal plug stuck inside of my MacBook Thunderbolt port, which was hard to get out once stuck. Buffalo would only offer to replace the entire drive instead of the cheap adapter, which would have been overkill and too time consuming. If you plan to use the Thunderbolt connection for these drives you may want to factor in the cost of buying a USB to Thunderbolt adapter that’s sturdier or a drive with a true Thunderbolt cable. As an FYI, these drives were unplugged less than 20 times before they broke and the laptop sits in a consistent docked & stationary position.

Greater than one weekUsing it on a ps4pro and I get around 10 second load times on Bloodborne and probably around 40 seconds load on Elden ring. Originally got it to transfer clips from my console to computer but ended up using it as a secondary drive to load my most played games on because it loads faster than base ps4pro. Around 70% also so the less you have on there the faster it generally goes with ssds im assuming it’s the same. Use the back port for the fastest transfers from my trials. If anyones looking at this for console clips transfers, if you can use your phone for editing, I recommend getting a usb c to usb3a dual tipped drive. That works phenomenally for that purpose this is better as a offloader imo.
