> 3 dayBought these to compound my sailboat hull. Overall a decent value. The scoring in the pads works well to hold the compound/polish. However the pads werent as durable as I would have liked.

Greater than one weekI have Griots G9, and a Flag Blue gel coat on my boat. These pads worked great. I paired these with Jescar Compound, Mirco polish and Power Lock. Used the Heavy cut + compound after 1500/2000 grit wet sanding some fender rash. I didnt have a rotary polisher, thought I was going to be SOL....but worked great. Ran the DA at 6...no problems. Used the light cut on the polish. Used to finish with the Power Lock. No Holos. No swirl. Best results Ive had so far.... NO problems with durability. The pads have a nice little cross cuts in them that hold the polish. Totally durable...will easily last me 2-3 more rounds of polishing, maybe more.

> 3 dayI have used SPTA polishing pads for over 3 years, with great results. Ive often wondered why someone would pay 2-3 times more when this pad gets the results I was looking for, at a fraction of the price? Well today I know. I compared an orange SPTA diamond cut pad to an orange Lake Country HDO pad both 5.5in, using a Griots G9 polisher and 3D Speed polish on a C8 Corvette. Using a glossmeter, I was able to get 5-8 more gloss units with the Lake Country pad than with the SPTA. Though I like getting higher gloss, the issue that has damaged my confidence in SPTA, is when polishing a subsequent car, a brand new 5.5 pad 2 panels in, started to warp and separate from the backing. Though I havent seen this previously, I will be looking for other alternatives.
