Bought this pad in 2020, used it a couple of times and when I really got to enjoy it, I lost my art supplies this March. But I can say that of all the years Ive used sketch pads, I have never encountered a brand as good as Canson Ive learned a lot of discipline when drawing on Canson pads, because being naturally hyperactive, I pretty much rushed through my drawings in the past and at times neglect to omit things like soda or coffee from my work area, leading to messes. I also never really checked the size of the pad I ordered online and either end up with one too big of too small. This one was perfect. I recommend Canson pads.

This is a nice official sketchbook. Highly recommended and highly recommend everything in this brand. It is perfect for beginners and perfect for on the go. I use it for school sometimes.

Having done digital art as a hobby for over 10 years, Ive started doing art with physical mediums. Im no expert and I have a narrow taste. I tend to draw/paint nature scenes, usually with mountains, and nighttime/space scenery. I do have some black canvases that Im saving, since Im finding painting with an actual brush and airbrush is very different compared to using a stylus. But I dont want to use up a bunch of black paint for nighttime/space scenery as I practice. This paper perfectly addresses that, and for the most part it works well with mediums. For writing utensils, I was shocked to find that watercolor colored pencils work VERY well on this paper. Charcoal colored pencils and pastels really pop on this paper when bright colors are used. Ive got some calligraphy marker pens that I used in mixed medium art, and they show well on this paper, but they dont pop the way watercolor/charcoal colored pencils do. Like the marker pens, standard colored pencils do show, but dont pop. To my great disappointment though, my favored gel pens really dont show too well on this paper. I really have to scribble to get them to show on this paper, and I was looking forward to using my neon gel pens on this paper. Fineliner pens do not work at all on this paper. However, mine are largely dried up from lack of use, so I could be wrong about the fineliner pens. As for paint, again, youll want to use brighter colors, though dark colors like blue and purple can really add some sweet, subtle depth on this paper when used right. Ive only used my airbrush on this paper, and while the paper did curl and lift a little, none of the paint bled. Still, Id be wary of using watercolor on this paper, especially if you prefer wet-on-wet painting. Heavily thinned acrylic or oil paints might soak and bleed through as well. Overall, Im really happy with this paper. Its a true, semi-gloss black and the paper is fairly sturdy. Since I prefer corner-taping my paper to my desk for art, I appreciate the fact that the papers are perforated in the book, so with a bit of care, you can cleanly tear out pages from the pad. If I still need black paper once I use this up, Ill be back for more!

I got this to do art projects with my gr. daughter. We started with chalk drawings and they came out so vibrant on this black paper. Its a very nice weight and can be used for all sorts of arts & crafts and the price is good too. Ill be using it for some of my own art as well.

I needed oversize paper for multiple commissions that I received and this Canson product is the best paper for this...honestly it is hard to find the large-size pads like this. And reasonably priced too. I love it...I ordered it on a Saturday night and it arrived the next day (Sunday morning) ....doesnt get any better than that :)
