Carib Sea ACS00223 African Ivory Coast Sand for Aquarium, 20-Pound

This appears to be a decent product. It was easy to clean and my aquarium is crystal clear after a few hours. If you are setting up a 40 gallon I would probably get five bags of this. if you’re setting up a 55 gallon I will get six or seven bags

We used this same substrate in our 75 and loved it. So decided to use it again in our 125. For the 75 we bought from a local shop. For the 125 we needed 6 bags so bought from here. After rinsing it out we found a lot of large black and red rocks coming to the top. I see other people have posted about the same issue. Usually this is great stuff but the batch we got was bad.

My cichlids absolutely love this sand. I love seeing them interact with it and dig their little holes. There was very little waste when rinsed, and it was shipped quickly. Awesome!

I separated each bag in sections of 4-5x and cleaned small sections at a time. Im glad I read previous reviews about cleaning it. It looks great in my 60 gallon tank. I havent add fish in it yet.

It did cloud up the tank initially (even after five rinses) but the next morning this is what my tank looked like. The substrate is beautiful!

Dislike it was beige and black and not white and black
