> 24 hourThe main thing I look for in purchasing embroidery hoops is the type of tightening screw/knob used on the hoops. I like the type of knob where I can insert a phillips screwdriver, if needed, to further tighten the hoops together. When I saw these hoops and even zoomed in on the advertised picture I saw these had the type of knobs I like so I made my purchase. I was very, very disappointed upon receiving my order and seeing that the knobs were NOT phillip-type, but only flat-head (see picture), the type I totally dislike. I didnt even open the plastic packaging and immediately returned them and now I am submitting my review. I find it very offensive when companies advertise one thing but deliver sub-par performance, which is what this company did. I know I have to give a star rating because this review will not get published without doing so. If it was possible to give a negative star rating I would, so 1 star (and even that is more than they deserve) is what I am giving them.

> 24 hourI bought these to make Christmas ornaments with and the screw pins are difficult to get to move I had to use WD40 one one to get it to move. Fingers were sore for 2 days

> 24 hourI’ve ordered from here a handful of times which they have been decent. However, this time all the hoops are awful. There are gaps and they don’t fit correctly so the hoop almost forms an oval top when tightened. So disappointing! I’m not sure if they come from different places because sometimes they have the slots to use a screw driver to tighten and sometimes not.

> 24 hourSo far I have tried out 5 of the hoops and 2 were unusable. One was cracked during shipping I assume because it arrived broken. (See pic) Another had the inner hoop so out of shape that it won’t fit snuggly at all and the fabric just slips around too much in the hoop. Also, these hoops are a little splintery and I do not enjoy that feature. I should have gone with a different set. The 4 inch is a nice size, but I hate wasting hoops. I don’t plan on purchasing these hoops again. They were inexpensive, but there are better quality inexpensive sets out there. For the hoops that do function well from the set, that look cute. Needed a little better quality control. I would not recommend these.

> 24 hourEDIT: I just bought these again and they came in without the blue plastic!!!! A dream come true!!!! These worked great for the Christmas ornaments we are making with them. However, the metal pieces are covered in a blue plastic film (maybe to keep from getting scratched) that was very tedious and frustrating to remove. Since the plastic is blue, if you dont remove every little piece it is pretty obvious and ugly. For people who arent committed to spending 5+ minutes per ring on removing the plastic slowly and meticulously, these might not be for you. If you dont mind that sort of thing, they were great. :)

> 24 hourThese little hoops are perfect for the small embroideries Im making for a craft show this month. They were easy to use and the screws were a good quality. Some people said removing the blue scratch- prevention cello was difficult, but with a PR of tweezers it pulled right off. You can add a little bow tacked on at the top...and tie a little ribbon or string on top to hang it by. They would make nice Christmas Tree ornaments.
