Checksoft Personal Deluxe

Program does not work well. The check look crappy. It is a complete waste of money -- its not worth the postage.

I bought this to be able to print my checks. I had quicken on my old computer and did not want to put it on my new machine. I thought this product would do the job. But getting it to find the printer has already taken three days of my time and it just isnt worth it. Ill go back to hand written..My printer works fine on everything but this. The product continues to send to the print queue but an error message continues to pop up. No printing. I gave up.

I have used Microsoft Money for the past 15 years.. I recently purchased a new laptop and needed a new version of MM, but they have discontinued it.. I tried Checksoft and it is a comparable product to MM, but there is to many annoying things you have to do to enter or change a transaction. MM, you just entered your transaction. Checksoft, you have to click new, and either tab or use your mouse to get to the fields you need. MM, was just straight forward, Check #, date, to who, amount/either transaction or deposit, if want to put something in the memo, enter... To edit in MM same thing, just go in and edit. You dont have to hit a edit button, just edit.. Checksoft is a nice program, it keeps my checkbook balanced, but I wouldnt buy it again or recommend it...

I returned because it would not accept or print my entire account number. Caused a few returned checks because the bank could not process them.

Different than the older version so took a bit to dial in but all good.

If all you want to do is print a blank check to write out by hand, Check soft is for you. If you are a Quicken user wanting to print checks using your Quicken program, set aside most of the day to design your checks and pick your style so that they print correctly using Quicken. The days of simply entering your check information and hitting print from Quicken doesnt exist with Checksoft. You are required to design your checks using templates. There are NO templates for check paper. You have to select a template and then erase all of the background details just to start. If you want to print the payees name and address on the check as well, you will be required to redesign the entire check. I spent 1 hour on the phone with Checksoft before they were able to explain how to do it. There was NOTHING in the help menus to get you to the windows the tech took me to. This has to be the most unnecessarily difficult and convuluted software I have EVER used! Next time.... Its Versa Check! If you have several bank accounts, be prepared to repeat this process for each one!

Started out fine. The next day my computer tells me I cannot run this app on the computer. Loaded program but cannot even find it today. Waste of time and waste of money!

Beware of this company. As others have stated, the software is very version specific to different accounting systems it integrates with. There is no indication on the packaging as to what versions. Updates are free, but upgrades are not - and guess what, version support changes are upgrades. Requiring people to pay full price for an upgrade just to do what the packaging says its supposed to do is pretty close to fraudulent. You would think the least they could do is offer a steeply discounted upgrade - but I guess they got their money already, so . . . The versions youll find at Staples and similar stores apparently only support QuickBooks 2010 and earlier.

Its not a bad product for what it does, so if you needs are very simple it might work for you. IT WONT PRINT onto your pre-printed checks that you order for your laser jet from your bank. Why? You can customize almost everything but the MICR code. It wants to print this and does not allow you to tell it not too. Therefore if you already have MICR on your checks it will print a second one. I guess this is there way of trying to corner the check reorder process. Also, in voucher form they allude that you can print out detailed information. I found no way of doing that. No way to customize the ledger application. They could have done better.
