23-12-2024I got this game for a toddler who turned three on Dec. 27 ... it was a Christmas gift. The game is too long for him at this time but he is MOST interested in the spinner and the numbers. I think it will be only a matter of weeks before he can sit through the entire game.

22-12-2024It is a newer version of the classic. They did a great job keeping it close to the same. My only complaint is that the playing pieces are so big they dont fit on one space so it can be hard to tell which space you are on.

> 3 dayAs a child, I fondly remember playing Chutes and Ladders with my family. This updated version is not exactly the same, but the general premise remains. Each player is represented by a cardboard piece on the game board. The spaces on the game board are numbered from 1 to 100, and players take turns spinning the spinner and moving the number of squares indicated. When a player lands on a ladder square, they are able to climb ahead a number of squares to the top. Similarly, when a player lands on a chute, they must slide down to the bottom. The illustrations on the board are intended to indicate that good deeds are rewarded with ladder climbs, and no-nos are punished with a chute. In my family, we dont focus on this aspect as much. Children who dont yet have a handle on their counting will need extra guidance and may get frustrated or lose patience. The box indicates that the game is for children 3-6 years old, and the instructions indicate 4-7. Overall, this is a very simple game. Not wildly exciting, and Id say its best benefit is in helping children learn to count to 100.

> 3 dayThis is the classic Chutes and Ladders you know and love from when you were a kid. Bought this for a 4 1/2 year old boy. It was a little frustrating for him at first when he realized that getting to a chute means going backwards, but now that hes used to it, he enjoys the game. Helps him practice counting.
