Just got a mare from the mustang rescue who suffers from sweet itch every summer. (They dont just turn over horses, they work with them and take time to find the right homes. She had had this delicate soul 4 years.) Her own horse has the same problem with the gnats here every summer. She has tried everything and reported that Coat Defense is the only thing that works. So Im using it. (FYI she also recommends Skin So Soft.) Hopefully I wont know how well it works because Im using it preemptively!

I absolutely love this stuff! I used it when some rain rot creeped up on my mare and the rain rot was gone in just a couple of days after using the powder daily. No bathing everyday or messy ointments. It was so easy and smells good too. I have extremely sensitive skin and it didnt bother me at all which made me feel good that it wouldnt bother the horses skin either. Will definitely be keeping this in stock in my tackroom.

I have a Chestnut Arabian Mare who is skin sensitive. This product is great for sweet itch, under saddle, around the ears, girth area, between the legs, etc. Anywhere theres going to be sweat, fungus, or bugs. In desperation to fight midges/sweet itch, this season I added water to some powder to make a liquid, dipped a wet towel in it and used it as a whole body wipe. It dries up and leaves a light amount of powder helping to keep midges away.

No scratching, no fleas, bright shinny coat.. My Dog is looking better then ever.
