Coliro M600 Artist Mica Watercolor Paint Set – Metallic Watercolor Paints (6-Color Set, 30mm)

These, are the best metallic watercolors I own, next to another German brand. These are so nice, that I cant even use them all the time. And they are hard to get. I ordered actual colors by this brand and the wait is over 4 months long from my art supply store. The colors are saturated and even though this set is all gold, all the colors are a different kind of gold.

Yeah, these are expensive. Yeah, they’re almost 3 times of the price of the Kuretake brand gold 6 Pan watercolors. But if you’re serious about your metallics, these are the best out there and nothing even comes close. I have both these and the Kuretake, and I also have a metallic set by Schmincke, as well as a cheaper company called Mozart. I have also tried making my own metallics with Pearlex powder pigments (NOT worth the trouble). I am an avid painter and I paint every day. I have tried a wide range of metallics as metallic accents are extremely important to my style of painting. And please believe me when I say that nothing, NOTHING on the market compares to these in terms of opacity, creaminess, shine and shade range. This company knows what they’re doing, and they’re doing it perfectly. I am in love with how every painting turns out, accented with these metallics. In fact, I believe they give my paintings a gold-leaf look - something that is otherwise extremely messy/ delicate to achieve. These paints are best used with a small brush for acrylic paints. They can be applied on almost any surface. And the consistency can be well controlled by how much water you add. The issue with the Kuretake paints is that, even though they look similar to finetec on the painting, the paints wear down quickly. Finetec lasts forever. You can feel how densely packed each cake is by how long it takes to activate. In the time it took me to use up an entire rectangular pan of Kuretake, I’ve only barely made a dent in a cake of Finetec. So if you’re someone who uses up your paints, it’s actually more economical to get Finetec. No I’m not sponsored by Finetec , just someone who has looked for the perfect paint for a decade and finally found it. Plus, if you are an instagram artist (follow me btw at butterletters), the Finetec palettes are beautiful to photograph next to your art and calligraphy. I never want to include my awkward rectangular Kuretake palette in my photos. But the round, silky, delicious Finetec paints add something so satisfying to my Instagram photos. So there’s that to consider haha! Anyway, I can’t rave enough about these! Time to go paint some more!

OMG the colors are beautiful. I use this with calligraphy pens so its kind of annoying cause I have to water it down and then use a paintbrush to apply to the nib but the color looks so nice. Its the nicest gold paint Ive ever used. No if only I can get the new colors on amazon.... if you look at the photo, I wrote Karen in finetec and the address using another brand ink. Finetec just has so much shine and sparkle in it that other paints dont have.

My favorite watercolor palette ever! You cant go wrong with the variety of colors, each more beautiful than the next. They add such a beautiful touch to my watercolor paintings!! I wont hesitate to purchase them in the future!

I saw various artists on You Tube etc work with gold and silver paints and saw that this brand was recommended so purchased it. I have used it several times on paintings. The paint requires a little water to make it usable, however once it is ready it applies well and looks wonderful. I took my work into the gallery where I sell my work and had another artist run their fingers over the gold pearl paint when he thought I wasnt looking.He was trying to work out what it was I had used to create the effect.I will be a repeat purchaser in the future.

I purchased on the recommendation of a watercolor artist on Youtube and Im very happy with the purchase. The colors are lovely and add a beautiful shine and color to paintings.

These are definiatly different than the ones Ive tried before. Even with a not so opaque application, the metallics do show beautifully to the point where it is hard to look away. Definitly different than the iridescent ones I had bought locally months back and looks like these will last a long time. I wasnt expecting these to be so beautiful and will definitely buy more. You can tell these are a higher quality brand. These are worth the money and you wont be dissatisfied at all. . . There were no complications in the product getting here. Everything was intact and in perfect condition.

Fair warning to everyone: I LOVE SPARKLE, SHINE, GLITTER, GLIMMER, and just about anything shiny when it comes detailing things in my art so this review is slightly biased. These paints are awesome for several reasons, not the least of which they offer a great variety of shades of gold and silver. Im also able to mix them with other watercolor paints without them losing their shine but I can also get them to full opacity if I need to. I highly recommend these paints to anyone like me who has 24k taste on a $24 budget! Happy painting everyone!
