I needed a sturdy umbrella, that could support the weight of someone if necessary. This umbrella is exactly what I wanted!

Wow, used it for the first time today. It is quite beautiful, well made and possibly the sturdiest umbrella I have ever had. Inexpensive for the quality. The handle is handsome as well. Got used to those convenient little pocket umbrellas, so I really noticed the difference. Love the upgrade; feels special. Other details: Small woman, late seventies. Fairly large canopy and getting used to the weight -- I read many reviews from this company, so I was expecting that. Living close to the Canadian border, we have a gray winter and can have cantankerous weather -- some snow, ice, wind, rain for quite a few months. Due to strength and size of umbrella, I am able to use it as a walking stick. Great purchase and would do it again!

I havent yet had an opportunity to use this. But it was shipped beautifully, very well protected. It seems very sturdy indeed, is good sized, and is beautiful in a classic, understated way. Before buying, I had questions about the product and their customer service was fabulous: their reply was fast, thorough, and articulate. Good service is so rare these days, Im motivated to write a review (something I rarely do).

The only thing I like about this umbrella is the 24 rib canopy which give an impression of being amazingly strong. It does have a good bit of weight to it but is still manageable. This is the second umbrella I received. The first one arrived damage. The ferrule was smashed in and it was obviously hollow, so dont put any weight on it. The first one also had a major issue with the locking mechanism and would not stay closed. Being a very strong umbrella that automatically opens and cant be kept closed unless snapped was a terrible experience. Lastly my biggest complaint is the handle. The title and the description both state Solid Wood Hook Handle & This umbrella also has a solid wood hook handle. respectively. This is obviously a lie. A few days after receiving the second umbrella it fell out of my vehicle when I opened the door and struck the concrete. This chipped the finish revealing some sort of fiberglass/resin handle. If you look in the second photo youll see a metal collar where the handle joins the shaft is not only cheap looking but a new addition to the design that is not show in the sellers photos. On top of that, the quality of the install terrible. It does not sit flush or straight. I really really like the canopy. Its elegant and sophisticated. Everything else on this umbrella is a joke. The old adage is true. If you want something done right youll have to do it yourself. I plan to replace the handle and ferrule shortly.

If you want a solid umbrella, this is it! I have bought dozens that dont last, I have no doubt this one will. The shape is cute, the weight is balanced. The handle is REAL wood! The material does its job and feels very sturdy. As soon as more are available, I will be buying one for multiple family members so they dont steal mine.
