CushCore Tyre Insert Set

> 3 dayI have broken a few wheels and had a lot of pinch flats. I have tried other inserts and they all failed me. I did get a 2 inch pinch flat while using these on a downhill run, but it saved my wheel! I will take a little walk and replace a $80 tire all day long vs buying new wheels. Granted Enve warranties everything it just takes awhile a month plus without a wheel. When installing stretch them and put the tire on one side first then insert. When you put the other side of the tire on make sure to slip it under and in the rim well all the way! Its way easier when you do this. Use their valve stems or something similar.

> 3 dayThese provide much better cornering traction for my setup. A little difficult to install on my asymmetrical rims, but not impossible. Completely worth the $.

> 3 dayIm a 185lbs rider with a 160/140mm travel bike in Arizona, and Im fairly aggressive downhill. After cracking a carbon rim in the rear despite running a 29x2.5 Aggressor at 23psi, and bending an aluminum rim + pinch flatting the 27.5x2.8 Nobby Nic at 18psi, I decided to just pony up for Cushcore. Well, I wont be breaking any more rims. I accidentally dropped my plus tires to 7psi (was playing with pressures on new Rekons) and sent it down a hill, setting my second fastest time despite all the drag. No rim damage, no rear squirm, and no worries.

> 3 dayI love the fact that I can run WAY lower pressure in my tires, especially running 29x2.6s. Currently installed on 32mm wide rims, so I had to get the CushCore Pro to allow for the wide tires but difference between CushCore and no inserts is night and day. I really didnt want to have to pay an additional weight penalty, 2.6 wide tires AND the heavy version of CushCore, but the amount of traction available is definitely worth it! The biggest gripe I have is that the inserts were the biggest pain I have ever had to deal with in terms of bike maintenance. Ive seen all of the hacks and cheats and easy methods of installing CushCore, but in real life they were a huge pain. I found it a little easier to have one side of the tire on the rim already and then squeeze the CushCore in through the other side of the tire. Its definitely not easy to push the tire bead into the rim channel once the CushCore in on the rim so I got as much of the tire on the rim before dealing with the CushCore. All said, I would get CushCore again and I would recommend it to anyone who rides mountain bikes. I havent tried any of the other brands but Im also a firm believer in you get what you pay for and I will pay the premium price if the product has a good reputation, CushCore has the reputation that I will gladly pay for. I am just a regular consumer so I dont get hand-outs and I would love for the cost to be lower but until the day comes when CushCore goes on sale Ill still buy at consumer prices.

> 3 dayInstalled them on my new bike , definitely worth protecting my wheels, better than having to straighten them all the time after jumping.

03-06-2025So…. I bought this product last month. I opened my box today (10/16/22) to find out it’s not even brand new. There is no valve stems in the box so I had to purchase some extra. Can’t return it, because it’s past time. I would if I could. There’s also a burn mark in the Cushcore. Not a very happy camper. It’s definitely hard to get on to the room. Even harder to get the tire be to set.

> 3 dayCheap insurance, plus the added benefit of better trail feel from your bike. Still cant believe how much better the bike feels. Easiest way to explain differance in feeling is going from tube to tubeless. Maybe even alloy wheels to carbon wheels. The differance in the way the bike feels is apperant. I bought CushCore to prevent pinch flats and carbon wheel breakage. Pictures included, and before you assume it was due to not enough air pressure, I was running 32 psi. Arizona has a lot of sharp trail features cacti, snakes, rocks, ect. Installation was easy if you follow Cushcore instructions. You could try other medods but Cushcores way made it painless.

> 3 dayHavent had a flat in months! I also noticed my ride (even through Rocky gardens) feels a lot smoother! Is like upgrading your suspension. Be aware, it adds weight to your bike, and you will feel that difference for a few rides. Other than that, the pros outdo the cons. I recommend installing these if you plan to start getting a bit more serious with your riding, or you plan to go through very Rocky trails.

> 3 dayMy son rides these, but here is what he has had to say about them after 3 moths of ridding bike parks, and fairly aggressive downhill (Nothing Redbull rampage crazy or anything, just black and double black diamond trails with 2-4 foot drops, loose rocks, roots, etc) he rides pretty aggressively and before using Cushcore, he went through two rims in about 2 months--both times, he had adequate tire pressure, he just landed on a rock perfectly and dented the rims. Since using Cushcore, he has ridden far more aggressively (and had far worse landings) with no additional damage. Whats even better, though is that he now rides much lower pressure and sears up and down that his bike handles far better, too. (Makes sense considering the lower pressure). They seem a little heavy to me, but hes happy to pedal up long climbs with them in exchange for the peace of mind he has now. Ill probably buy some for my bike as well.
