> 24 hourHad 2 of these hooked up to Google WiFi (1st gen) mounted on my ceiling. They worked well for a year then they both died within a week of each other. Both were connected to a POE switch running off of a UPS.

> 24 hourI bought 3 of these adapters and they all work, and work the same way. They do what I need, 5V @ >1A. Pro: — Runs Raspberry Pi 4 @5W, required for boot-up and heavy processing (all 4-cores @100%) — Works with Raspberry Pi 4 Pre-v1.2 USB-C connectors (CC lines wired together, not separate as required, newer RP4s do it right) — Convenient small size, light weight — Will charge my cell phone using a µ-USB adapter — Provides the higher current needed to run the RP4 reliably. My laptop Type-A USB ports dont provide enough power, and my pre-v1.2 RP4 wont power off the USB-C port, because it is wired incorrectly. This makes this higher power adapter necessary for my application(s). Con: — USB-C is 5V only, wont negotiate to higher voltages. — No real con, except the green light on the Ethernet port never lights. I couldnt decide if this is an Ethernet activity light, or a USB-C connected light. Either way, nothing I do makes this light turn on. Wondering what its for?

> 24 hourSo this will work with a RasPI 4... BUT it is only 2.4A not 3-4A like AC adapters for the RasPI 4. The result is that it will power the 4, but there may not be enough power to fully power the board and performance may suffer or you may have stability issues. This is why I get warnings from OctoPrint that there isnt enough power. Honestly, this would get 5 stars but this was marked specifically for the RasPI 4 and for that its just not good enough. That said, it really does depend on what you are using your PI for... it might be fine.

> 24 hourI bought 2 of those for my Google Wifi(1st Gen) set up. I wanted to mount the routers on the ceiling without having to run extra wires, just one cat 5e and thats it. Plugged my cat5e coming from my poe switch and the router powered up and data connection was strong.
