> 3 dayPurchased for my 8 yr. old. He has music lessons at school in which he is learning to read music and I wanted to expand on that basis. Setup took 1 minute and was ready to go! I walked through the chapters and they appear to have a very well thought out sequence (Chapter 1 - BLACK KEYS, using 2 and 3 row keys), Chapter 2 (WHITE KEYS). It has a virtual keyboard on the computer screen (click of the button) when want to see the virtual KB play back the lesson (it highlights the KB and the notes on in the lesson). It also has a video tutorial (click of the button) for each lesson/section/page of the chapter. I learned things in the 1st chapter that I never knew about playing the piano.

> 3 dayAs with most of the ...for Dummies range, this does deliver on it`s promise - but with caveats. I`ve flicked through a few of the different books from this series in shops, and always figured that they were not particularly different to any other basic introductions. And this is the same - and more to the point, if there is one thing the world already has plenty of, it`s books telling you how to play the piano! I was a bit surprised that this isn`t more progressive, or at least, modern, or different. It`s the same old songs as usual, hymns, carols etc., and it`s not very interesting. Having it playing on your PC or laptop whilst you tinkle the ivories may be helpful, as it probably focuses your learning, and obviously it is more fun and cheaper than forking out for lessons from an increasingly frustrated tutor! 150 lessons sounds like a lot, but each one is very short, and they are very easy to follow. Also, it won`t take you that far in terms of development - it really is for beginners, maybe up to very low intermediates. If you really haven`t touched a keyboard before, then perhaps this is a good start, but that`s all it is.

> 3 dayTo try to get the full multi media experience, I loaded the disc onto my Mac laptop, and connected it to the electric piano. But the interactive section - where it is supposed to pick up on what you are playing, still didnt work. So I was left with the music, the audio, and able to follow both through the lessons.

> 3 dayIts so easy to follow! I love the fact that it teaches you the actual notes. Ive always wanted to learn the piano/keyboard and never had the money/time for classes. This saved me time and money! I can do it whenever I want to!
