Exo Terra Terrarium Lock

Im not sure if this was just a defective lock or if it truly was as terrible as it seemed. I never got it to work properly, the lock would open on any number combination and sometimes it wouldnt even latch closed.

I have two of these. One I’ve had for almost a year now and it’s great—easy to use and serves its purpose. Unfortunately the second one I purchased, which arrived Jan 12, has already broken less than 1 month later. A metal piece fell out of it while removing it from the tank and I was unable to fix it.

My 4 year old daughter was able to pull the lock hard enough to separate it which allowed for the cable to slip out and open the lock. I bought two of these locks and it happened to both within 2 weeks of having them. Don’t waste your money on this lock!

Great locks for reptile units. Make your own combination so multiples can be set to same #.

Sub par quality, youre paying mainly for the exo terra logo on the lock to match the terrarium. Any tsa luggage lock works as well, if not better for half the price.

I am very satisfied with this product. Although my children are well behaved and listen carefully to instructions this lock gives me a better sense of security for when my children feel a little rebellious.

Its a good and secure lock, Im always a fan of Exo Terra/ hagen products. In my opinion, these could be better designed to stop the doors from being opens at all for optimal safety and security. Or even smaller versions for the nano line. But for what they are theyre great.
