Fiskars 3x18 Inch Acrylic Ruler (187640-1001)

This ruler is just what I needed. I have a 6”x 24” ruler that is my “go to” ruler, and I use it for A LOT of measuring, cutting and squaring up, but sometimes it’s just a little to big to be convenient. This 3” x 18” ruler fit the bill when I still need a longer straight edge, but because it’s a bit smaller than my 6” x 24” it can be easier to use.

The white “highlighted” seam allowance lines are not transparent. It’s impossible to tell if you are squaring your block accurately. This issue will lead to inaccurate block sizes… misaligned seams and incorrect quilt dimensions. I wanted to replace my rulers that are about 15 yrs old. They are a little scratched and wanted easy to read rulers. These aren’t it. The top rule is my older fiskars and the bottom is the new version fiskars. The bottom makes me angry every time I look at it. Please make a simple ruler that is easy to read without the gimmicks. Functional features are still actual selling features! I hate these and all like them.

This is my go to ruler for paper crafts. Love that its wide, clear and durable.

I loved this ruler when I first purchased it, and I used it all the time. Now, however it is pretty much useless for what I need it for as all the lines have simply rubbed off. I now need to buy another one, hopefully one of better quality.

Easy to use.

I used these in my boat canvas shop until I closed the shop. I likes the way they worked so much that I keep them available in my home workshop. Great for use in sewing projects, marking seam allowances and stuff. But also great for wood or metal working projects. Just about anyting that need an accurate measurement. Although they have a small amount of flex, they are pretty ridgid.

This ruler is great and does what I need it to do! Makes my life easier!

I thought this ruler was a good value. The product was as advertised and lasted a long time. I say a long time and not forever, despite the Lifetime Warranty. I used this with a rotary cutter and added a suction-cup handle to it for cutting fabric. Worked great, but after several months the rotary blade made little micro-cuts into the plastic of the ruler. Over time these cuts started to catch the rotary blade, which not only chipped out even bigger divots, but really started to shorten the life of those expensive rotary blades. At first I thought the blades were just getting dull because I was cutting upholstery grade fabric, but then I realized that the fault was with the chinks in the ruler itself. I think this ruler is a good value, but if its advertised with a Lifetime Warranty, Im not sure I should have to count on buying a new one every six months to preserve the sharpness of my rotary cutter blades.
