2 different items ! L.B.
> 3 dayThis is indeed one of the best and handy appliances on the market as in accessories for sewing. Ive gone through 2 or 3 by now ... I hasten to say I do a LOT of sewing .... you might use one and have had it for years ... my thing is that eventually, the little measurement stripes get erased with all the usage, and then they become a lot less handy when that happens. But this doesnt stop me getting a new one, they save a LOT of time, doing hems, or simply wanting a curate seams, so I think theyre wonderful. L.B.

> 3 dayI loved this ruler when I first purchased it, and I used it all the time. Now, however it is pretty much useless for what I need it for as all the lines have simply rubbed off. I now need to buy another one, hopefully one of better quality.

> 3 dayI bought the ruler to replace one with red markings. The print is bold and easy to see while crafting. Best decision I made.

> 3 dayI have long used the earlier version of this Fiskars 8.5x8.5 ruler. It helps me to make very precise fabric cuts. After long use, the black lines on the ruler begin to wear off. For $10, replacing this ruler every 5 years is fine. However. The new version of this Fiskars 8.5x8.5 ruler has white protective lines on the bottom surface that obscure the fabric laying under the black inch mark lines, meaning that cuts are less precise with the newer version of this ruler. I imagine that the white lines are there to prevent the black lines from wearing off? I would rather make precise cuts and buy a new ruler every 5 years when the black lines wear thin. Alas, the listing for this item in Amazon currently has two images, one image showing the early version of this ruler and the other image showing the current version of this ruler. I did not pay close enough attention. I need the earlier version of this product, not the current version. I am sure that the new version of this ruler is fine for many users who do not require as precise measurements as do I. (I continue my quest for an 8.5x8.5 acrylic ruler that has ONLY the thin black lines and NO white highlights. I need to see the fabric exactly under each of the black inch mark lines; for example, to make exact 6x6 squares.)

> 3 dayI have used this brand this style for years in years. Mine was so brittle that it cracked many times. I ordered one this one from Amazon, then found one at Joann fabrics. The one at Joannes was cheaper because of sale but the same. The biggest problem with this new Layout is it is very difficult to see the precise line to many colors, thick lines. However it is not the seller it is Fisker the company that produces the rulers. So to the seller sorry for the three stars,

> 3 dayThe Fiskars ruler is extremely well built, the acrylic is solid, and overall helped with our shop to design characters. Features: 1. Flexible if you are measuring a curvature. 2. Clear acrylic if you need to see through to the piece you are measuring. 3. Standard Measurements Pros: 1. Affordable especially with the quality offered. 2. Malleable for different measurements 3. Lightweight 4. Straightedge to cut materials without damaging the product. Cons: 1. If the Fiskar had a protractor option - This would be an added benefit. The Fiskar ruler allowed us to develop some products for our business. We needed a ruler/tool that was fully malleable to designs and able to adjust to certain needs. The additional benefit of using it as a straightedge actually wasnt considered when we originally purchased it - but proved to be a added feature.
