Id recommend this weight for direct drive turntables only. it is heavy. the belt on my Sony turntable was unable to spin the platter. This is a mid/entry level Sony. Perhaps on a high end table thered be better results. I do believe the weight will cause a belt to wear out quickly.

Im very happy with my purchase. This fits my RT85 and looks great. The rubber texture feels nice and the felt bottom wont scratch anything. For a hunk of metal it is pricey but compared to others I tried this is the best for the money. It does a great job at flattening warped records too.

Really helps keep the LPs from sliding around.

This is an awesome piece of equipment stops a lot of flutter on older records and keeps the weight constant as the record turns.

It does help, it stabilizes the plater speed, but I dont hear a big difference, it does enhance the bass a little, but not to the point that if I forget to put it on the album, I can automatically hear it and jump up and put it on the album. I bought this one because I have a Fluance RT-85N, so I wanted their matching weight which is one of the heaviest on the market.

The weight of this is perfect. No need to clamp down. Helps with those slightly warped records and improves the playback.
