19-11-2024Bought this since I have a Fluance record player. I did notice the difference with better sound. Also, I love the matted finish.

> 3 dayLet me start by saying this a a very nice weight and I am very happy with it and it matches my turntable. The quality of everything Fluance makes is great, but you could probably find another brand of equal quality for half the price. And as long as you go in knowing that you’ll be very happy. Also it’s important to mention that it is low profile so you can close the dust lid while it’s on your record player.

Greater than one weekIve been building stereos for over 51 years. Vinyl is my favorite medium. In all those years, Ive never seen or heard of a HiFi Vinyl Record Weight Stabilizer. I researched and found this one to be suitable for the price and also because I have a Fluance turntable. I put it on with a heavy bass Zeppelin tune and not only did it keep it from skipping, but it also cut down on the feedback I was getting between the speakers and the cartridge. This dampens the vibration of the record to reduce wow and flutter and obviously reduced feedback. This isnt a necessity for the beginner, but a must for the audiophile. It does make a difference.

> 3 dayI like the weight of the item and it functions well. I bought this item, partially, because it matched my Fluance RT-85 turntable in both brand and color. The item is priced very high for what it is. I give this item a poor review, not because of the price, but because the Fluance logo was already peeling off upon taking it out of the package. Very poor attention to detail and lack of quality control. It wasnt bad enough to take the trouble to send it back but definitely bad enough to make me not feel that great about the purchase (still functions fine at least). Even if it had been intact properly it appears it would not have taken much to get it to wear off. Should have been engraved for the price they ask for this.

> 3 dayItem was delivered quickly and looks great but when I put it on my NEW Fluance RT85N there was a very noticeable difference in rotation speed that both my wife and I noticed immediately. Again, this is a brand new (less than 5 hours total playing time) turntable that plays great without this weight so I highly doubt its the belt or motor. I notice in descriptions of this item and others that this item weighs considerably more than most others out there so I may give a different brand a try but after trying this on 4-5 of my favorite albums featuring songs Ive listened to hundreds of times (so I know how theyre supposed to sound) it was clear that the music was playing considerably slower that it should. Just not for me at all. LOVE my Fluance turntable by the way so not a knock on the company at all.

> 3 dayWow, this thing is heavy! I purchased this to go with my Fluance RT85 as I wanted to ensure my vinyl made solid contact with the acrylic platter. I was almost afraid to use it it was so heavy but it works like a charm. You can probably place a warped records and have it make contact. In any event, its a quality record weight.

> 3 dayIt’s a prohibitively expensive hockey puck with a hole drilled into its center. And it’s not even autographed by Wayne Gretzky or anyone. Nonetheless, I never play a record on my RT85 without it. What I think makes this hockey puck more expensive than most is the fact that it seems perfectly weighted and balanced to spin on a vinyl. I have no evidence this actually helps, but it makes sense to me why it would. If it does to you, too, you might enjoy it.
