> 3 dayGreat sized product for routine maintenance on a 55 gallon tank. I use it because I am concerned about removing too much beneficial bacteria when I change my cartridge. No complaints, good overall product.

> 3 dayI tried EVERY product to cure my fishtank bacterial bloom (which causes intensely cloudy water immediately after fishtank setup). Nothing worked.. until this! Its been weeks and my fishtank is still crystal clear.

> 3 dayThere is a typical cycle in a tank starting with fish creating ammonia > eaten by bacteria creating nitrites > eaten by bacteria creating nitrates > removed during water changes. It takes time for the bacteria to grow strong enough to cope with the levels of ammonia and nitrites and this can kill or damage the fish until it is strong enough. This product is meant to give you a head start so that these toxins do not harm the fish too much. My review may be a bit harsh because this is for cycling WITH fish, but many people nowadays use fishless cycles to avoid damage to/death of fish early on. I used this to kick start a fishless cycle but it hasnt made even a little difference - 13 days in and still no nitrites. So maybe it works with fish (as the product is intended), but my experience is that it doesnt work with a fishless cycle. It shouldnt really make any difference as both ways feed off ammonia, but Im 2 weeks in with no changes yet. Id have been better saving my money.

> 3 dayFirst off for the low reviews This isnt a magic product that is going to make ammonia /nitrates /nitrites go away on 1 week it doesnt work that way . Research before getting into this hobby. For me it works flawless On a 50 gallon tank and a sunsun 4 stage canister filter full of bio home ultimate media . UV light off temp at 80°. Play sand from home depot 50lbs . I add RO water 5 feeders gold fish and brine shrimp .the next day test ammonia using API liquid kid ammonia was reading 5ppm. Then I started this product and in 2 weeks my tank was reading 0ppm on ammonia and 5 ppm nitrite. 0pmm nitrate . So Nitrogen cycling is on the works by the 3rd week I had 0ppm ammonia and 0.pmm nitrite . 5 pmm nitrate .1 month in I got rid the gold fish and add 10 angel fish and 6 Japanese algae shrimps from petco . 2 months later I did my first 25% water change and I add some live plants to lower nitrates . I could go 1 month with out change the water and not go over 20ppm on nitrates .

> 3 dayTHIS PRODUCT DOES NOT WORK! I did an experiment with these biological enhancers on two different tanks. I attempted to fishless cycle two brand new sponge filters (same brand and model) using ammonia. One tank, I used Fluval Bio Enhancer; on the other tank, I used Seachem Stability that I left laying around my house. I threw in the same, brand new sponge filter in each tank, put 5ppm ammonia, waited 20 minutes for the ammonia to spread, then added Seachem Stability to one tank, and Fluval Bio Enhancer to the other tank. I followed dosing instructions (in this case, Fluval recommends 25ml for every 10 gallons on the first day, then 10ml on the second and third). After the 3rd day of dosing, I checked both tanks and the Fluval tank still had 5ppm ammonia, 0 nitrites and nitrates. The Seachem tank had 4ppm ammonia, 1ppm nitrites, and 0 nitrates. I continued dosing the Fluval tank for the next 4 days with no change in the nitrogen cycle. I will continue to test this product for the next 7 days as nitrites typically form around 2-3 week mark; however, I would recommend Seachem Stability instead. Not only does it work, but you use less of it (recommendation is 5ml every 10 gallons on the first day, then 2.5ml daily for the next 6 days). There is also no worry of overdosing, so I just put a little more than necessary but I dont think it helps. I am going to continue dosing stability for the next 7 days as well and I expect the cycle to be fully complete in a total of 2 weeks. Seachem Stability is recommended if you are impatient like me. I will try Tetra Safe Start next. EDIT: Fluvals biological enhancer still did not work.
