10-06-2025The light works well for about two years. After around that time BOTH ive owned have failed in separate ways. The first just began to dim to the point the plants started to suffer. I replaced with another Fluval lighte which now blinks incessantly as it begins to dim during the sunset feature. If i don’t catch it it will blink all night like that. Save up for something nicer and more reliable as you’ll save money in the long run being this need to be replaced every two to three years. I wish i hadn’t bought the second one to be honest but i won’t be buying another Fluval again, ever.

Greater than one weekHappy with these lights overall. I bought four of the 32 watt lights for my 90 gallon / 340 liter tank (48”x18”x24”). It’s a deep tank with a cross bar, so I opted for four shorter lights vs. longer. First picture shows how I’ve configured them on the tank. My biggest issue is with the app. I love being able to control all my lights via one app. The only issue is that the the slider bar that is used to set the light schedule times in “Pro”mode is awful. I carefully slide until I get to the desired time like 09:00, then when I lift my finger it shifts to 09:02 or 08:58. It’s minor, but when setting 4 separate lights, I prefer to have them all change at the same time. I finally found a workaround by taking a screenshot of the factory light settings, then deleting and recreating the time markers. When you create a new time marker, the time can be set using a different selector tool that’s much easier to use. The good news is that once you get one light set, you can use “Save As” then export it to your other lights, so now I have all four lights on identical schedules. The “Auto” mode is much easier to configure, but only allows four times to be set while “Pro” offers 10. I like the “Pro” because it allows me to set a “low intensity” period in the middle of the day where the lights are dimmed for a while. One other thing that isn’t really an issue (just surprised me) was the size of the power supplies (see last two pictures). Based on the label, it looks like these can get pretty hot. So far, even after a full day of operation mine are just warm not actually hot, but it’s something I’ll keep an eye on.

> 3 daySuch good options on this light. My baby dwarf tears carpet is growing faster and is so green. My red root floaters are getting more and more red. They are beautiful. This light is exactly what my tank needed. Then Bluetooth options are great. And this light bar has a button on top to change the light if needed. Worth the Price.

> 3 dayI have this light on my planted 29G Amazonian Biotope tank. It is plenty powerful enough to grow just about any type of plant you could ask for. However, because of this power, it is important to properly program the light as to avoid unwanted effects such as algae growth. On my light, none of the colors go above 50% brightness at any point in the day. Personally I would recommend taking the time to learn how to use the Pro mode to program the light. While it looks complicated at first, it is actually quite easy to create a custom profile. It will help to control algae growth, and you can have it transition to different colors throughout the day just as nature does. To make a custom Pro profile, you just select a time point and set the brightness of each color. Then just repeat for up to 10 points in time. The light will fade/transition between time points automatically. I find it easiest to delete all the initial time points and start from scratch. A couple other things to know after purchase: 1) Power button color must be set to green to use app programming 2) If your power goes out, the light will default to its stock profile. So if you are out of town, it will still do a day/night cycle. Also if you find your tank lit up only blue during the day, this is probably why. 3) Because of the heat this light puts off and the texture, it will form water spots very quickly if it gets splashed. A little glass cleaner sprayed onto a paper towel (NOT ONTO THE LIGHT, OVERSPRAY WILL KILL YOUR FISH) will take them off quickly.

> 3 dayNice light and gets the job done, but only four stars because there are a few improvements that could be made without affecting the price too much. 1. The light loses its clock setting when the power goes off. They could add a $0.50 battery to fix this, like a computers motherboard. 2. Being able to export the settings to a csv xt file, edit and upload would be a nice function and would allow us to swap settings with others. Using the slider to select an exact time is tedious and typing the times into a file would be easier. The exported file could also work as a back up. 3. The less expensive Fluval Aquasky has the weather effects. I expected the same on this model but it wasnt there.

> 3 dayThe health of my plants really shows after having used this light. Previously, I had a poor quality light that I purchased with a 20 gallon aquarium kit. I think it is better to just spend some extra money on higher quality products because it is worth it in my opinion. My fish are thriving and my friends are amazed when I change the light colors and brightness with my phone. I also love how you can set the time and even length of the sunset and sunrise.

> 3 dayLight was working great until today when I opened the app to adjust settings and saw a notification that a firmware update is available. Followed instructions and after the upgrade light is now bricked. It wont turn on no matter despite me holding down the power button. Update: Searching forums I found out that the app has a hidden option to force firmware update and it fixed my light.

> 3 dayLove this. I grow plants to feed my turtle. The multiple settings allow me to change per my mood or the tanks time of day. Very happy with this purchase. Looking into more of this brand in the near future

> 3 dayThis light is an investment. But it’s well worth every penny. Settings are limitless, quality is high and most important it brings the light to my plants to keep them healthy. Fluval all the way!
