> 3 dayI use this bit when making tables and putting a radius on the corners of the table top. Works well, and no issues. Ive made about 6 tops with this specific bit and its still sharp and works well. (Walnut, Maple, Elm, Catalpa, Cedar, occasional pine) (Catalpa end tables and small pine top shown in pics) I rarely have any issues with this manufacture..

22-11-2024Usually Freud makes good stuff. This time it didn’t work out. The end bearing flew off after 30 minutes of use. i actually took the time to check the retainer screw and make sure it was tight before using it.

Greater than one weekExcellent bit. Very sharp. No tear out in soft or hard wood as long as dont rush it. Makes duplicating parts in 3/4 stock a breeze. Clamp 2 pieces together along with a 1/4 template and knock out two at a time.

> 3 dayIm a fan of Freud router bits and this one is no exception. Bought this one to use on a Greene & Greene style bed I was working on. The rails had curves that couldnt be cut on the band saw, so I made a template and used this bit to follow it. I was using it in 8/4 Sapele planned to 1 1/2. Left it nice and smooth.

23-11-2024If you have smaller pieces that are about an 1 inch thick it should be fine. I was trying to flush trim some walnut that was 1.9 inches thick and it was so scary since it wanted to send it flying and it did twice. I would recommend getting a spiral fluted bit instead even though its 5 times the price it will be a much cleaner cut and not try and throw the wood out of your hands.

Greater than one weekFreud has lived up to their great reputation. This bit will be used to make an arch fill above a door in an brick house. I made a template from a 1 x 4 and let the bearing ride the template to form the 2 x 4s for the fill. This will ensure a perfect arch shape on every piece. Ive used shorter bits like this before on thinner boards with great results.

> 3 dayIts a really long bit, so vibration is hard to manage, but, surprisingly, it works really well. I use it as a poor mans jointer and it works well.
