> 24 hourI got this planting shovel to replace the one I had for many years. My fault, but it has a wooden handle that has become very weathered and rough. This shovel caught my eye because of its plastic handle that wont splinter! It has a nice sharp pointed tip, wide shovel scoop. I like the measurements on the shovel, so you can determine the depth that you want to plant in. It is very sturdy and will break through compacted dirt. This shovel will do the job and hopefully last a long time.

> 24 hourI like to work in the garden. Often I transplant things from the nursery or things I have grown from seed. I saw this trowel and asked Amazon to review it. This transplanter trowel is very good. I ready dont care for the color but that will make no difference in the garden. In fact, I might find it faster among my tools. The handle is very firm; it is made out of hard plastic. It fits my hand well but it might be a little big for a person with small hands. I like that it has a depth gauge on the front. I wish it had one on the back. It is helpful when you are digging holes for your transplants. The overall build of this trowel is very good. It is solid and heavy. The blade is thick. Comparing it to another transplanter trowel I have used for years it is slightly smaller but still good. See photo. The weld holding the shaft of the handle onto the blade is good and solid. The blade and the shaft are both made of stainless steel. I have complete confidence in it. The trowel will not bend even when you apply a lot of pressure. Its a great little trowel for transplanting and anything else you might need a trowel for in your garden. While I love Amazon and its reviews, sometimes in the review of the item you are looking at they review several different items. The reviews on this website are an example of that practice. If you look closely the reviews for this item actually include 5 different items; a fork, a dandelion weeder, a scoop, a trowel, and a transplanter. I was a little confused at first because I thought the trowel and transplanter were the same. They are not. Out of 69 reviews this morning, only 11 related to the transplanters. It can become very confusing. In fact, a mediocre item can be hidden among 3-4 great things. There is a workaround for this. You go to one of the reviews of the item you want, and you will see on the left-hand side of the review just under the stars in fine print it says style. Next to that, you will see the item you want. Click on your item and it will bring up the individual reviews on only your item. However, even when you go to those limited numbers the overall reviews in the star box still reflect all the items.

> 24 hourVery well made tool, heavy-duty metal with comfortable handle. Just started gardening a couple years ago, been using a big kitchen spoon for planting. This is called a transplanter trowel shovel, and so I thought it would be good for digging little holes for transplanting or making small trenches for seeds. It is my inexperience that I didnt know and could not tell from photos that this is a flat tool that would be good for cutting down into dirt but probably not so good at removing dirt, since there is not much of a scoop shape to it. I will remain on the lookout for more of a small hand digging tool/shovel, and for those of you who know that this is a narrow, flat tool and what to do with it, I think it is very sturdy and at time of review, a good price as well.

> 24 hourThe point of this garden trowel pierces the ground easily. Makes planting foolproof with measuring guides on the blade of the trowel. Great handle, it is a little bigger than most handles which makes the grip very comfortable.

> 24 hourThis thing is a monster! Much larger than expected, and makes gardening easier. Is very easy on my hands and loosens soil almost effortlessly. Love it!

> 24 hourI have been an avid gardener for over 40 years and this is by far my new go to tool. Super strong and wider than most. It makes it so easy to loosen roots to remove weeds. I am a little leary of the hard plastic handle as that is where many tools fail when the handle fails to hold the forks. It seems sturdy enough but time will tell. I do like the rubber type grip on the handle to keep your hand steady on the tool.

> 24 hourI have dandelions. I also have birds that like to plant some sort of acorn all over my yard. I know they are storing food for winter, but they forget about it and then I find them when they start to sprout. They are difficult to remove because of the long tap root they send down into my clay soil. (It isnt soil, its just clay). This tool has a very comfortable ergonomic handle that allows me to stab it into the ground and then pry these blasted weeds out by the root (best if done right after a heavy rain so that the ground is soft). Ive had a weeder like this before that allowed me to dramatically reduce my dandelion population, but the tip on this tool is sharper and the length is longer which makes it superior in performance (better leverage). I got out several of the blasted bird-planted acorns in a few minutes. Its very satisfying to rip weeds out by the root and know that they have died before they can reproduce.
