I bought this for the main reason of solar power and it turns out its really just a gimmick ! Solar will not charge the battery it just slows the battery drain... Just not worth the price tag!

Animated workouts are supposed to work on the 6 Pro, and apparently for many people it works fine. It doesn’t work on my new 6 Pro and it’s a known issue at Garmin. If Garmin doesn’t have a software fix for this watch before my return deadline, I’ll be returning this watch as defective, as it doesn’t work as advertised.

My first Garmin product. Love the build quality and the hardware setup of my watch! Seems durable and resistant to the worst conditions. The features are unparalleled. But, the way Garmin approaches user experience in the software design for these features is wacky! The separation of apps and activities and the crossover points between them can be confusing. Accessing day-to-day smart watch features requires some deep customization, whereas some of the activities that come prepackaged are ready to use out of the box. Navigation is quite tricky I find, requiring lots of management and use of extra devices to program accurately. Even then, sometimes it just straight up doesnt make sense or work at all. Like getting it to stick to using roads only for city navigation, instead of just pointing a direct line between point A and B. Dont need a GPS watch for that! These sort of common features need more work from Garmin. On the other hand, if you play golf for instance (I dont), this thing probably is awesome out of the box because the activities and feature set for that specific activity are highly developed. Granted, Ive only had it for a few days, and am still getting used to things. Im excited to try it for hiking and mountaineering. I assume, as with all modern electronics, there is some product management hedging that goes on in terms of priorities, and that as time goes on the features will become more reliable and consistent. It does seem like Garmin rolls out updates frequently, even if some of the users are dying for their bug fixes to come next. But, Im satisfied for now and am looking forward to seeing how it works in another year.

I have had Garmin watches for the past 15 years. This is the best one yet. It measures everything and can be tailored. I am glad I did not get the 6X, as this one looks plenty large on my narrow wrists. The band is quality rubber. I added a Road ID to it. Plenty of data.
