> 3 dayI am very pleased with my new watch thus far. I had a Garmin Fenix 5X previously but it wore out after about 4 and a half years. I chose to get another Fenix since I was hoping the Fenix 7X would operate the same. Its a bit different but Im getting familiar with it. Its definitely a good idea to look at the manual. The touch screen feature is nice. Im also very pleased with the solar charging feature. I will now be able to go much longer without plugging this watch in. While far from cheap I consider this money well spent.

> 3 dayLove the watch ,huge fan of garmin technology buy it seem like a trend when I buy stuff on Amazon, 30% of the time the product is malfunctioning. This watch in particular after about a week, the functions of the left top button has completely disappeared, cant activate the flash light at all and cant turn on the background light to checkout the time while in the dark. Now Ive just ordered the 7x saphire, hopefully Ill have better luck.

> 3 dayThis watch is outstanding! I killed a deer about 2 miles from my truck 10 minutes before last light. I reached into my pack and found that my main flashlight was gone. (Wife, kids lost tablet under seat) No problem. Reach into the side pocket for my trusty Olight... Gone. (Daughter, who knows.) So 2 miles from the truck I double click the ole Fenix and I tracked this deer about 65 yards. Did what hunters do after that. Which was interesting. Then drug it out with the Fenix lighting the way. I have checked readings on this watch with the GPS Ive carried for 4 years more than 50 times. These readings need to be precise. If youve ever been in the woods far enough that you cant see or hear civilization you know that these two trees look exactly like those last 4000 trees you just passed. If these readings arent precise I lose a camera that cost money. Or a deer that feeds us for months. I have searched for a camera for 45 minutes in the middle of August in a swamp. The mosquitos sucked more life out of me in 45 minutes than my ex-wife did in three years. The GPS I was using at the time was off by about 30 feet. That can be an enternity in some woods. Usually that camera is gone. Precise!!! I placed a camera in a public land spot a little over 2 miles off vehicle traffic. I clicked the location hot key. Saved it and walked away. Two weeks later I took that walk again. This watch took me directly to it. Amazing reliability. THE GPS IS TREMENDOUS!! I have had this watch bring me with in 5 to 10 feet every time. Unbelievable. A couple weeks after buying this watch I sprained my back. 4 weeks of hell. But 4 weeks of doctor visits. Everytime the nurses check my vital I compared them with this beheamouth of a watch. (It did take about 3 weeks to get used the the size and weight of the Fenix.) Never once in 10 visits not including an ER visit did this watch fail to produce. Every vital was with in 1% of the Offices readings. The medical stats are why I was originally in the market for a watch. Im 47 about to be 48 and not as active as I was in my 30s. So keeping an eye on some of my vitals sounded alluring. I run a mechanic shop for a living. Unfortunatley watches dont really last in my line of work. Take it off at work you say. Another reason I bought the Fenix is to get notifications quickly. If Im under a car and my phone goes off I have to stop, reach into my pocket and pull out my phone. I have to see if this is something that needs to be addressed now or can it wait. The interuption is so irritating. Not any more. A twist of the wrist and there it is in half a second. Back to work. But also the durability. Watches just dont last in my line of work. Whether its clanging off a lift as you squeeze through. Or forgetting you have it on as you shove youre hand behind the radiator to check the lower hose and smack it against a clamp. Ive been through more than a few watches. Now I have, of course, been more careful with the Fenix but so far it has a been great. (Oh it will also connect to the Garmin bow scope. You take a shot and it will mark a waypoint where the arrow was supposed to strike. Thats freaking cool.) Really the only thing I dont like about this watch is the price. I dont buy $1000 watches. I can easily see this being a ten year watch. Thats a long time. And well worth the price. And like I said it took me a minute to get used to the size and weight. Three or four weeks for sure. Now its nothing. Love the watch. A little lite in the back pocket but definitely dont feel cheated either.

> 3 dayWatch itself is everything you researched on YouTube videos, amazing piece of gear for EDC and fitness. Low rating was that watch was delivered with box seal open already?! Item was inspected thoroughly and looked new, watch also registered online with Garmin website/ app, so must be new and legit right?! Still sketchy, but watch is performing as needed so far.

Greater than one weekIm a Fenix 5S+ user for more than 3 years. I briefly owned Fenix 6s and returned it because it doesnt support Asian languages. I ordered Fenix 7s sapphire solar next day its announced. Let me elaborate the differences among these generations. Part1. Fenix 7 vs Fenix 5 1. 7 has much longer battery life. Almost three weeks vs 5s one week. This is huge, but I think its mostly from better power management rather than solar charging. I wear it 7/24 and never take it off. I swim three days a week, one hour each time. I time my swim by the watch. For the 5, it often brushes off 10% of the battery by doing so. Now the 7 takes only 4% off the charge 2. 7 is 5.5 grams lighter than 5. See the pictures. This is huge. I can clearly feel the difference on the wrist. Dimensions are almost identical though. 3. 7 now reads respiration rate (breath per minute) and blood oxygen saturation (only manual check) other than heart rate 4. 7 includes all languages. As a contrast, you have to buy 5 or 6 in the country with your desired language. For example, a watch you buy in USA cant read anything written in Chinese. That was absurd. Im glad Garmin realized its 21st century now. 5. 7 comes with touch screen. Although I disable it most of the time. Only chance I feel like needing it is when I view maps. Touch screen does help to zoom in and out and move around. Viewing map on 5 is quite painful if not completely useless. Part2. Fenix 7 vs Fenix 6 To be honest, theres not much of difference between two generations other than 1. 7 has touch screen and 6 doesnt 2. 7 supports most languages and 6 doesnt 3. 7 has a bit more solar charging area than 6 So, if you dont need other language support and dont use map often, go ahead and grab a Fenix 6 instead. It would save you several hundred dollars, even more when its on sale. Part3. A couple of things I expected on 7 but didnt get it 1. wireless charging. Theres no reason to have plug-in charging nowadays. Data transfer isnt the reason. 2. Theres a rumor that band charging is coming with 7. Thatd be a giant step, but it isnt easy. 3. I wish screen contrast would be improved, at least as good as 5. I can feel the white isnt that white and all other colors are faint too except black. As a conclusion, its worth upgrading from Fenix 5, but not so much from 6. Did I mention I returned my first 7? It kept shutting down all sensors. Its usually triggered by starting swim activity. All the sudden, none of sensors would work until you restart the watch. It occurred 3 times out of three weeks. The replacement hasnt had that issue since a month ago.

> 3 dayLove the watch. Im getting about 11 days of battery life. It has a ton of features that takes a while to learn. I have a Samsung S3 watch and that screen is much brighter than the Fenix 7.

> 3 dayThis watch truly does it all, and it has been a lifesaver for me--probably in a literal sense. Its comfortable and it looks great, especially with customizable watch faces. Battery life is superb. Super easy to use, and they seem to have thought of everything (example: turning off touch screen while youre recording an exercise activity but still allowing scrolling/functionality with intuitive button presses). The data collected are really helpful, especially if you sync them with Strava (subscription costs extra). I bought the HRM-one heart rate monitor to pair with it and it works very well. I had been concerned about the accuracy of the watchs HRM readings, but it turns out they were mostly pretty dead on. With the strap I also get all sorts of useful info about my gait efficiency. I really want to give this 5 stars. THE ONLY ISSUE is the fitness tracker/recommendations. I have been working out A TON ever since I got this, which was sort of the point. This watch wants me to slow down and do more low aerobic activities. As a result, for two weeks it has been warning me Im unproductive and my stats (VO2 max and heat acclimation) have backslid inexplicably even though Im working out all the damn time (in summer heat, no less). Sure, I may be overdoing it a little, but this watch cant seriously think Im trending backward in terms of my fitness level. I appreciate the amount of thought and expertise that apparently went into these metrics, but how about some credit for putting in a whole lot of work?? I was hoping the HRM strap would help the app recalibrate its expectations based on more accurate biodata, but if anything this problem got worse. Garmin product support specialists were awesome and friendly, but all they could tell me was to take these automated assessments with a big grain of salt. I didnt buy this watch expecting it to be my personal trainer, but to the extent it wants to be, it comes up woefully short. OH, and also I think I may be allergic to the blue titanium bezel and clasp, so if your skin is sensitive to certain metals, be careful.

> 3 dayWatch was awesome, lived the LED flashlight. The solar charging was very cool. The watch was not bright enough for these old eyes.
