This watch is outstanding! I killed a deer about 2 miles from my truck 10 minutes before last light. I reached into my pack and found that my main flashlight was gone. (Wife, kids lost tablet under seat) No problem. Reach into the side pocket for my trusty Olight... Gone. (Daughter, who knows.) So 2 miles from the truck I double click the ole Fenix and I tracked this deer about 65 yards. Did what hunters do after that. Which was interesting. Then drug it out with the Fenix lighting the way. I have checked readings on this watch with the GPS Ive carried for 4 years more than 50 times. These readings need to be precise. If youve ever been in the woods far enough that you cant see or hear civilization you know that these two trees look exactly like those last 4000 trees you just passed. If these readings arent precise I lose a camera that cost money. Or a deer that feeds us for months. I have searched for a camera for 45 minutes in the middle of August in a swamp. The mosquitos sucked more life out of me in 45 minutes than my ex-wife did in three years. The GPS I was using at the time was off by about 30 feet. That can be an enternity in some woods. Usually that camera is gone. Precise!!! I placed a camera in a public land spot a little over 2 miles off vehicle traffic. I clicked the location hot key. Saved it and walked away. Two weeks later I took that walk again. This watch took me directly to it. Amazing reliability. THE GPS IS TREMENDOUS!! I have had this watch bring me with in 5 to 10 feet every time. Unbelievable. A couple weeks after buying this watch I sprained my back. 4 weeks of hell. But 4 weeks of doctor visits. Everytime the nurses check my vital I compared them with this beheamouth of a watch. (It did take about 3 weeks to get used the the size and weight of the Fenix.) Never once in 10 visits not including an ER visit did this watch fail to produce. Every vital was with in 1% of the Offices readings. The medical stats are why I was originally in the market for a watch. Im 47 about to be 48 and not as active as I was in my 30s. So keeping an eye on some of my vitals sounded alluring. I run a mechanic shop for a living. Unfortunatley watches dont really last in my line of work. Take it off at work you say. Another reason I bought the Fenix is to get notifications quickly. If Im under a car and my phone goes off I have to stop, reach into my pocket and pull out my phone. I have to see if this is something that needs to be addressed now or can it wait. The interuption is so irritating. Not any more. A twist of the wrist and there it is in half a second. Back to work. But also the durability. Watches just dont last in my line of work. Whether its clanging off a lift as you squeeze through. Or forgetting you have it on as you shove youre hand behind the radiator to check the lower hose and smack it against a clamp. Ive been through more than a few watches. Now I have, of course, been more careful with the Fenix but so far it has a been great. (Oh it will also connect to the Garmin bow scope. You take a shot and it will mark a waypoint where the arrow was supposed to strike. Thats freaking cool.) Really the only thing I dont like about this watch is the price. I dont buy $1000 watches. I can easily see this being a ten year watch. Thats a long time. And well worth the price. And like I said it took me a minute to get used to the size and weight. Three or four weeks for sure. Now its nothing. Love the watch. A little lite in the back pocket but definitely dont feel cheated either.

The battery life was shorter than I had expected. It declines IF you use tracking and other features for hours, e.g., on a hike. It takes awhile to take advantage of all the features but Im getting there.

I am really impressed by this watch. I had Fitbit before, and this is a HUGE upgrade. I got Fenix 7 solar, smaller size. I know it is not a cheap watch, but worth every penny.

After living with a daily charger watch. I decided to get something that could handle all of my applications without dying at the end of the day. It was a struggle to make the decision as the watch is not inexpensive, but once I had it in hand I knew that I had made the correct decision. Tons of capabilities which I learn about daily.

Way better than my previous 5S Plus! Better battery life, better accuracy, better sensors, lighter! I would have liked to try OLED, but the EPIX2 doesnt come in small (42mm) yet.

it does a lot of things but...$800 are really not worth it, especially when a lot of those things are done at half the price from other smartwatches - even from the same manufacturer! after a few days I have returned it

This watch is incredible. The soft flexible band is comfortable (I cant wear metal bands anymore as they interfere with typing and mouse). Its big enough (I tried the 7X and its nice but its too heavy for me even though it fits better). I wish this one had the LED light but thats about all I miss from the 7X. The battery lasts over a week and i use it for hiking, cardio, breathwork, and much more. There are so many cool faces you can download and the way the hiking topo maps keep track of your hike is cool. I love the stress numbers, the sleep numbers, and just all the data in general. If you are a data nerd and love data, you will love this watch. There are just so many pros and very few if any cons. The only thing I dont love is the proprietary charging cable and I have to take it off to charge a couple of times a month. The solar is cool but even with a few hours of exposure daily, it wont charge it all the way. It will give you a few percent a day, so even if you were camping or away from power for a week, you still wont need to charge it. There are so many settings that you can make the watch unique. I might consider the Epic over this if you like more colors. Fenix 7 series is 64 colors and the Epic is 64,000 plus the Epic display is the bomb but no Solar is available. If youre an active person or just a golfer (lol) you will love this watch. I cant recommend this enough.

Had a 5S and wanted to upgrade for a few reasons. The 5 had given me issues with heart rate cadence lock which would cause my load calculations to be inaccurate. The 5 also didnt support my concept 2 rower natively. I could use the ergiq app but using that it didnt count toward training status. With the 7 Im getting much better heart rate data and I can now use the Garmin indoor row activity and add my rower as a sensor which lets my rowing activities calculate into my training status. Also enjoying the sleep tracking, health snapshot which gives HRV, and the body battery features. Very happy with the upgrade so far.
