> 3 dayMy old Kohler gaskets were about 7 years old and had become sticky, presumably due to the chemical attack of chlorinated water. They would occasionally stick to the valve seat and get pulled out of the retaining groove causing the toilet to continuously drain and fill until noticed and reseated. I was going to replace the entire canister flush valve but decided to give this a try first. The valve now works like new, even less resistance when flushing due to no gasket sticking. I bought 4 more and replaced every gasket in my house. Well worth the money and takes less than a minute to replace.

> 3 dayFirst, I bought a cheap 3rd-party seal that was supposed to be compatible, but it leaked because the diameter was actually wrong. Then I bought this official Kohler seal, and it works great.

> 3 dayOur toilet became hard to flush. It was becoming an issue so I watched a couple of youtube videos. Those videos led me to purchase this part. This was a perfect replacement part for our toilet tank. The replacement was fast and easy just like the flush became after replacing it. Instructions: Take off the tank lid. Turn off the water. Flush the toilet to get rid of water in the tank. Pull the small hose piece from the center cylinder. Give the main cylinder a quarter to half twist and pull up. This should pop out the center piece. Pull off old seal and reinstall the flushing mechanism. Save $50 from calling the plumber.

> 3 dayHad I known how ridiculously easy this was to fix, I would have done it months ago. The hardest part was probably putting the canister back in the cradle once the seal was replaced. The whole process will take about 3 minutes, maybe 4 if you struggle a bit like I did trying to get the canister to line up so it will fit back in the slot The seal is a perfect fit. The genuine replacement Kohler seal is a bit pricey for what it is, just a simple rubberized ring, but Im guessing what youre paying for is the composition of the rubber which will resist corrosion and disintegration and likely outlast the cheap no-name brand knockoffs. The initial seal lasted 6 yrs. Im guessing this will also last that long.

Greater than one weekAfter dealing with a slowly disintegrating gasket for months I finally purchased a replacement. The old one looked like it was made out of polar fleece. Apparently, the original natural rubber seal was damaged by the big clorox chlorine tabs I had put in the tank a while back. Replacing the gasket took almost five whole minutes from start to finish and now the occasional refilling on the toilet tank is gone and the physical effort to push down the flush handle went from a ridiculous number of pounds to a couple of ounces. This new seal appears to be made of a substantially more durable silicone rubber than the natural rubber of the original. The only complaint I have it that I should have replaced it a year earlier when I first noticed increased difficulty pushing down the flush handle and occasional sound of the tank refilling without reason. I bet it wasted thousands of gallons of water. Ugh! Im planning on buying extras and taping them to the underside of the both toilets lids so I dont have an excuse to delay replacing them the next time! If you have a toilet that uses this seal, it is a must-have upgrade even if you dont think you need it. Recommended without reservation.

Greater than one weekIts worth the price, dont waste your time on the cheaper knockoffs. Just get the goods and sleep well at night. No more leaking or running water. A quick you tube check and you can do it yourself. Sixty plus yo woman here, not a quick learner, but a good learner. Look everything up, your system, how-to etc. Do it once, do it right. The cheaper ones buckle, dont waste your time and money.
