Now I know why these were on sale here. Does not work on Verizon 5G. Might not work on other 5G networks also ? Its a nice phone, but I bought it to use on Verizons 5G network. Now the sales are over and Im kinda stuck with it unless I want to cough up more $$ to get one that works on 5G. Should have gotten the phone at the Verizon store while they were marked down. Stupid me...... I had tech service try to figure it out a couple of times. Been in the store also. Just had them install another 5G sim card in the phone. Still doesnt work on 5G. UPDATE Just left the verizon store again with a new sim card. I get some 5G in spots now. My buddies Samsung phone is 5G almost all of the time. Mine isnt most of the time and were in the same place. Ive also been getting weaker signals and more dropped calls than my Pixel 2XL that i just retired. This is the first and only time i buy a phone off of a website. I would consider this phone a factory second. If my 2 XL wasnt losing battery capacity, id send the 4A 5G back for a refund.

The phone is in the right price range and functionality, but was defective. While it could make calls, it could not receive calls. The store employees that helped us said that this was a common problem with this phone. Also, Google apparently did not lay the necessary groundwork to assure the phone was compatible with the T-Mobile network. We verified that it was compatible with the Sprint network, but did not know 2 important caveats: 1) the phone can only access the 5G Sprint network in downtown Chicago, and cannot access the T-Mobile 5G network at all, 2) the phone is NOT compatible with the T-Mobile network that Sprint customers are being moved to. We liked the initial polish and functionality but it was defective and we switched to a Samsung (more expensive) phone which worked without issue.

I love the Pixel phones. Had a 3a. This is a real upgrade expesially battery wise. I am not into putting $1000.00 dollars in a phone I am going to replace in a year or 2. These phones are great for price. Just know 5g phones are an extra monthly payment expense too. Also if you want a white case for it or any cases that are slim and good you will be on a great search. I do not know why that is. I still highly recommend.

The bluebooth module is complete crap, I could be called a Power User; Smart Watch & Bluetooth Headset(s) & Bluetooth Mouse/Keyboard, Ive had far better connection and reconnections with my Samsung S8 Active or even the Samsung A20 I used for a short time, even excluding the amazing DEX program provided via Samsung. Google owns and operates Android so youd expect it to be the best most fleshed out device however outside the good camera it is complete crap. You cant use any type of heavy duty case; Otterbox Defender type, because the all swiping doesnt work hardly at all with thicker cases, there is no option to use bottom buttons to avoid this. Since Google owns both Android, Chrome and YouTube youd expect at least that was perfect but it is far from even decent. You cant rotate the phone without clicking the full size button as it doesnt rotate on its own like all androids Ive used including the LG K7/8 etc. The finger print scanner is honestly the most finicky one Ive used, it requires 3 or 4 attempts to figure out your finger each and every time. Biggest irritation is the confusion internally with fast charging. Unless your using just the provided charger its hit or miss if not only will it fast charge but even charge at all. I use a 3rd party magnetic charger since I have so many devices and it works amazing with all devices except this POS. You rarely get fast charge and many times it wont even charge on its own charger. I could keep going but for the price go anywhere else, even those dreaded crap Chinese phones I listed above. Do not and I repeat do not waster your money on this pile of junk!!!!!

My wife uses this as a work phone as well as a personal device. It has held up well for the last year. there have been no complaints of lagging or battery life, so she is happy.

First of all, I had the phone 4 days and Im still putting it though its paces. The first thing I noticed right away after downloading everything is the battery life. The battery life is incredible on this phone...wow. I had it a few days now and I got, 10hrs 28min on screen time over 2 1/2 days with time left to spare. I didnt make it to battery saver mode. This is with a mix of heavy, med to light use. It charges pretty quickly also. It took 1hr and 5mins to charge from 17% to 100%. Love the camera and this is one of the reasons why people buy this phone. And the extra Google features they put on this phone. And the timely upsides of course. I was surprised to find out that I had 5g. Its pretty quick, T-Mobile version with me on Mint. Im getting 40mbs to 162 dn to 15.9 to 57 up in areas Ive tested so far. My friend is getting 7.4 dn where he lives so, everywheres different but so far Ive been getting it everywhere I go. Its a nice simple phone and its the Goldilocks of the new Pixel phones. No issues so far, works great. One I thing I dont like is, the location of the power button on top coming from Moto phones. Other than that love the phone.

Love the camera. The wide angle lens is proving really useful during our trips. Also happy that the aspect ratio is by default 16:9 (my husbands iphone 11 keeps reverting to 4:3 which was annoying). Im happy this particular pixel still has an audio jack and a finger print scanner at the back instead of being replaced by facial recognition. I prefer the finger print scanner to be located at the bottom front (like in my moto g6) as it would have been easier to access but I understand why its designed to be in the back instead. Overall, really happy with this phone.

I initially tried the Pixel 5 and returned that to Google. Then i waited until the 4A5G was perfected and got it last week. Easy to work with - good size on the various touch pads so i can use it easily. It seems to be the perfect upgrade from my Moto-x4 and i am very glad i got it. It comes packed with a charger . cord and pin device to get access to the sim card tray which is so easy to use. Sound is very good and can get as loud as i want. I am extremely happy with this phone.

Im a little biased since i went from an iphone 6 to this but i am pretty blown away. At first i was disappointed in the display and camera and thought it was grainy until my dumb*** took off the protective film that comes on it brand new. The display is clear and great, the camera is just amazing, night sight is spectacular. The photo sphere is brand new tech to me so i love it! Its nice to be back with android again after so many years, i missed the customization of phones including background, app placement, sounds and so on. Finger print sensor isnt new to me, but compared to the iphone, its night and day on speed and performance. Spoiled people complain about the dumbest little things, but in my opinion this is a solid phone. Posted a before and after of night sight used.

Pros: Snappy fingerprint reader Long battery life when screen is off Decent speakers Fantastic, easy to use camera that takes great pictures Clean and simple user interface with minimum bloat Clear, clean calls Cons: Terrible screen on battery life, seriously YouTube and Prime Video destroy my battery life Uses a slower display so feels a bit clunky in comparison to a flagship and even many other midrange phones Had it just kill Audible for no reason a few times once the screen powered off. Now I know I really cant say no expandable storage because its a Pixel, but I didnt really even think about it with a base 128gb or storage and the ability to leave out the bloat leaves a ton of that open. BUT.... With Google music switching to YouTube music I now have to load all my songs onto the phone where I could once stream them so that space that was saved, really isnt saved anymore. *6 month update* Touchscreen occasionally just stops working for a few seconds at a time, almost like its lagging. Storage isnt even half full. Getting mildly annoyed.

Meet Pixel 4a with 5G, the essential Google phone. It has the helpful stuff you need in a cell phone, with an extra boost of 5G speed. So you can download a movie in seconds, enjoy smooth streaming, and play your favorite games. Pixel 4a with 5G also takes amazing ultrawide photos in any light, keeps your data safe, blocks robocalls, and has an all-day battery that can last up to 48 hours with Extreme Battery Saver. It’s a lot of help from Google, for a lot less than you’d expect. And it’s an unlocked smartphone, so you can choose the data plan and carrier that work for you.

[1] Works with all major carriers. Contact carrier for details. 5G service is carrier dependent.

Actual results may vary. Some features not available in all areas. Data rates may apply.
[3] Download speed claims based on testing videos from three streaming platforms. Average download time was less than sixty seconds. File sizes varied between 449MB and 1.3GB. Testing conducted in an internal 5G network lab and on pre-production hardware in California in July/August 2020. Actual download speeds may be slower.
[4] Enabling gameplay with cellular data may increase your mobile data usage up to 2.7GB/hr. Gameplay is service-, network-, connection-, and game-dependent, and may not be available for all games in all areas. Users may experience inconsistent gameplay. Stadia requires account creation.

Testing conducted on two major carrier networks. For both claims: Pixel 4a (5G) and Pixel 5 battery testing conducted by a third party in California in mid 2020 on pre-production hardware and software using default settings, except that, for the “up to 48 hour claim” only, Extreme Battery Saver mode was enabled.
