Green Water Tracing & Leak Detection Flourescent Dye - 1 Gallon
-
Straight Forward
22-11-2024I purchased the dye to help find a leak in the pond and used according to directions pouring it into my pond after I shut off the waterfall as directed. With the water still, the dye did not move much and did not go towards the leak as it should have. Instead, the entire water was green as the dye and hopelessly useless. Now I got almost a gallon of dye and out $29.

> 3 dayThe product shipped fast, and it seems to work as advertised. Tested it in toilet tanks to determine if flapper valves were leaking. Very concentrated, about a half teaspoon turned the full tank bright fluorescent green. Have used about a half gallon chasing the source of excess water coming into a sump pump system. Have not located the source yet, but that is not the fault of this product. Buying a UV flashlight is recommended, the UV really makes it glow!) It would be useful if this product came with a brief tutorial, especially how to analyze stormwater problems and required concentrations for various conditions (hydrology for dummies).

> 3 dayI was using this as a fluorescent marker and it worked great. I like that it is biodegradable and not nearly as nasty as some markers. the only drawback is that is looses capability as it dries. Not a show stopper from my perspective just something you have to be aware of.

> 3 dayWorks great under UV light. My septic lateral field has a small wet spot when the ground is saturated by rain. I uses a little higher concentration ratio. Poured 1/2 gal in the toilet.

> 3 dayAdded a little more than a tablespoon to have the look of antifreeze and after 3 days still is bright green.

> 3 dayLittle expensive but it’s worth it. I didn’t use it for finding a leak. It served its purpose. Don’t get scared of the orange color when you get it because it will be green when you add it in water!

> 3 dayPerfect for St. Pattys day pool party. We have an indoor poor and it worked perfectly and looked great. It naturally faded after about 6 hours and was gone by next day. Highly recommend.
