Hakko T18S3P Tip for Fx-888 Station, 5.2mm

This tip work like a wonder compared the one which came with the soldering kit. I use it for all general soldering jobs.

This tip has proven to be a perfect size for the stained glass work I do, together with the fx888 its an awesome tool. I recommend it to anyone looking to upgrade.

Great quality solder tips. Pre-tinned so solder sticks perfectly right from the start.

Con: the cleaning sponge in the stand tends to flip out when wiping the iron. A minor nuisance. ** Pros: This tip, when coupled with the Hakko F-888D Soldering Station is the ultimate setup for my stained glass craft. This heats the lead came enough to melt the solder, forming a perfect joint without the risk of melting the lead came in the process. More hobbyists could do stained glass with lead came instead of copper foil if they used the Hakko F-888D digital Soldering Station. And lets face it, leaded windows (made w/ lead came) look so much better than foiling. No more foiled again!!

Like the title says. Its a good tip and fits the Fx-888 perfectly (which is a REAL good station). What more can you ask?

I bought this to solder connections for RC cars, and it does an amazing job. Initially, I thought Id try to get through the job with the needle point soldering tip that comes standard on pretty much all soldering irons. Basically, I made a mess of it. The wires I was soldering were 12 gauge, and the small tip just didnt transfer heat well enough. I bought this tip after reading reviews, and the difference it made was incredible. Its obviously a high quality tip and it looks like it will last a very long time. Solder joints almost look professional! Truly this made a technical job so much easier, and I cant recommend it enough. Also, this does fir the Radio Shack Pro-Line soldering station perfectly.
