> 3 dayHighly recommend this iron to beginner or pro. Its costs a little more than some, but the temperature control and feel of the iron are worth it.

> 3 dayThis Hakko replaced a Weller that served me well for several years. So far good performance from the Hakko. Heats up fast also.

> 3 dayAfter years of using regular soldering pencils, I decided to invest in this soldering station and am mighty glad I did! The unit reaches its target temperature almost immediately, and the lengthy cable between the iron and the station base is extraordinarily flexible and thus easy to use. The only complaint is what others have commented on in other reviews - it is a bit difficult to learn how to adjust the temperature, but once you do, its not bad. The digital temperature gauge is nice to have and quite easy to read. And the ON/OFF switch is located on the side, not in back, so that is easy to access.

> 3 dayThe tips are readily available. It is a higher wattage iron so it gets to temperature quickly and easily maintains temperature.

Greater than one weekI upgraded from my old trusty Weller WLC100 to this Hakko. It is far superior is almost every way. When using Hakko tips, the temperature is bang on. It heats up in less than 30 seconds compared to the 3 minutes on the Weller. I set my unit to Celsius as its how I learned to solder, but it is Fahrenheit out of the box. The only complaint is the horrible interface. Hold enter, then change the temp. Do not hold the Up bottom, or you mess up the calibration. Honestly, the buttons are just a horrible choice. A knob like the old discontinued 888 is far superior to the button interface.

> 3 dayHakko solder station included almost everything I needed for my first attempt to assemble a small 10 meter digital transceiver. The Hakko station has since been used to repair electronic devices (replace defective solar sensors, add led indicators to weather station power supply), jewelry, and attach connectors to coax. The station is well made, has a small footprint, and quickly heats to, and maintains, a stable working temperature. The included solder tips are easy to maintain. I couldnt have made a better choice and expect to get years of service.
