Head and Shoulders Shampoo Old Spice Pure Sport, 21.9 Fl Oz, Twin Pack

I have used Head and Shoulders products for years. Like many people, I have mild dandruff and the active ingredient in Head and Shoulders products - pyrithione zinc - keeps it at bay. My shampoo of choice has always been the apple-scented version of their dandruff shampoo with conditioner. So I was happy to try out this new product to see how it stacks up against my old standby. First of all, I can say that it works just as well as their other products. After just over a weeks worth of use I have no dandruff and my hair is nice and clean. I do like this product buy Im taking off a start for two things that I dont like and one that might be a problem for female users. The first issues is the scent. Personally, I dont mind it but female users will likely find it too masculine. Most women would probably stay away anyway since Old Style is a mens product. But in case you were wondering, I can say definitively that this scent is a strong, masculine one and it will stay with you for hours after showering. The scent disperses more slowly than some of their more muted scents (like green apple). Another issue with this shampoo is that is does NOT contain conditioner. This is likely not a deal-breaker for most people but I do prefer my shampoo to contain both so I dont have to use two different products on my, admittedly, scant amount of hair. Finally, and probably the thing that I dislike the most is this shampoo is really, REALLY foamy. Its way foamier than Head and Shoulders other products. Its almost as if they took their shampoo and, rather than simply adding the Old Spice scent, they went ahead and added the body wash formula as well. It seems so much foamier that it seems there is more soap in this product than their normal shampoos. It takes more water to rinse off and sometimes I will be standing in an inch of foam if I use too much; the foam expands so much that it is slow to drain. Its crazy foamy. Bottom line I do recommend this shampoo with the above reservations. If you like strong, masculine scents and dont mind really foamy shampoo, by all means give this one a try. It will keep your dandruff at bay and will leave your hair shiny and smelling nice. Its another winner from an old standby.

This is another great product from Head and Shoulders. It works perfectly for cleansing and controlling dandruff. This is perfect for the men in my house because it has the Old Spice fragrance. It rinses cleanly and leaves hair fresh and clean.

I hemmed and hawed over lowering my rating to 4 stars because you really need a pump dispenser on this larger size bottle. Its awkward to hold its so wide and heavy. My husband already dropped it in the shower and broke the pop off cap. Head and Shoulders works great on my husbands itchy winter scalp. He has little to no flakes, his scalp gets dry from the winter heat and frequent shampoos, H&S helps the itchy dry issues. He prefer no built in conditioner and I think thats just because he is a man and real men do not need conditioner. He is against 2 in 1 or 3 in 1 shampoos. The Old Spice Pure Sport is a nice scent that men or women could enjoy. Its a fresh clean smell more geared to men but I know my twenty odd year old daughter loves these scents.

If there was any complaint on using Head and Shoulders before it was the medicine like scent. This has a nice fresh citrus scent, is much more pleasant to smell when using and after showering. Two large bottles should last months even if every day use, the thick shampoo suds up well, invigorates the scalp, and you dont need much. Im fortunate at my age to still have a full head of hair, so this is a nice change in my favorite shampoo. Still contains all the typical ingredients for a good dandruff fighting shampoo. The price is great, even lower than expected for two large bottles. Recommended for men who need a good dandruff shampoo.

Terrific scent and dandruff control is effective

Head & Shoulders has been my husbands go-to shampoo for years, and hes continued using it even after shaving his head. You wouldnt really think a bald guy needs to shampoo, but he lathers up his scalp each day to keep flakes away. Head & Shoulders Men Advanced Series Shampoo in Pure Sport by Old Spice has a fresh, clean scent and is effective at controlling dandruff. We obviously cant comment on how this formula affects hairs look, texture, or fullness, but my hubby says it feels refreshing and it leaves his scalp looking healthy. I always associated Old Spice with my grandfathers aftershave, but their new scents are thoroughly modern. As the name implies, Pure Sport has a sporty, fresh-smelling fragrance; theres no hint of the medicinal or chemical odor some dandruff shampoos have. As you can see in one of my review photos, the shampoo has a slightly runny, cream-like consistency and a pale milky-green tint. The extra-large 21.9-oz. bottles make this twin-pack a good value. The shampoo arrived in January 2020 and expires in January 2021, so that allows plenty of time for my hubby to make his way through both bottles. And we like that the bottles were shrink-wrapped together, which kept them from accidentally popping open or leaking in transit. Overall, this Head & Shoulders Men Advanced Series two-pack of shampoo is a good deal and a great choice for any guy who wants effective dandruff control and a fresh yet masculine scent.

Good price. Item came before expected

I got this yesterday and had to try it last night and I am a happy camper. The competing scents between my shampoo, cologne and deodorant is an annoyance to me. Having been an Old Spice Guy for the past 50+ years, this particular shampoo is a Wowwee Zowee moment as Frank Zappa would have said. It is a Zinc P. based shampoo which is all that works for me, and the scent, although not strong is a perfect match for me. No film left on my (very fine) hair, no frizzy after effect and clean hair, whats not to like? The price is precisely comparable to That Other Store so being able to shop online with Prime is a deciding point for me. If youre an Old Spice Guy too, go for it.
