Its exactly what is described - speaker wire, AWG #16, clear insulation. This is low-voltage wire for speaker use, not AC line cord. Polarity is indicated by a visible red strip in the clear insulation.

This solder is of very fine gage. Perhaps I should have known this when I placed my order. This is a very fine gage for DIY projects (in my opinion.) Iwould not buy it again, not for the work I do on my sailboat
