    Great little board. Definitely recommend switching to the Arduino IDE though as youll get more bang for your buck with the minimal memory it has. Be sure to watch out for the pin usage... having certain voltages on the pins caused mine to not boot and put it into other modes. Otherwise great little board for the money!

    Overall I like the product. I will buy addition pieces at some point. I have three different ESP8266 products to play with first. Mine arrived with the SiLabs IC not functioning correctly. I could receive data but not send data. I bypassed the IC with my own RS232 transceiver and now I can work with it. I dont blame HiLetgo for the bad product. I believe they are just a re-seller. At some point Ill remove the ESP8266 PCB and use it in an actual project. For now I am just exploring. The price paid is fair for the functioning ESP8266 but it would be nicer if everything worked.

    Works just the way it should, much easier for prototyping than the barebones PCB version of the 12f

    Turns out it was ME that was the problem

    This is my go-to for projects needing WiFi

    Ive purchased this pack twice now. The first three worked with no issues. In the second batch, one of three was DOA

    They worked GREAT! Hooked up a quick 1-wire temp probe and programed via USB from Home Assistant and theyve been working like a champ ever since! Would absolutely purchase these again and can strongly recommend to others. YMMV

4. Go to Tools > Board > Board Manager> Type "esp8266" and download the Community esp8266 and install.
5. Set up your chip as: Tools -> Board -> NodeMCU 1.0 (ESP-12E Module) Tools -> Flash Size -> 4M (3M SPIFFS) Tools -> CPU Frequency -> 80 Mhz Tools -> Upload Speed -> 921600 Tools-->Port--> (whatever it is)
6. Download and run the 32 bit flasher exe at Github(Search for nodemcu/nodemcu-flasher/tree/master/ at Github) github.com/nodemcu/nodemcu-flasher/tree/master/Win32/Release Or download and run the 64 bit flasher exe at: github.com/nodemcu/nodemcu-flasher/tree/master/Win64/Release
