Greater than one weekI needed one of these for a job I was doing. I researched and chose this one because it had a metal washer as opposed to the plastic one that many others had and the cone was clear so you could see your bit placement . While reading the reviews I had seen several which stated they had received a used product, I ordered anyway and after a few days received a used product? What the heck? The plastic is cloudy, with scratches and smudges on it making it hard to see through and precisely place the bit in the correct location. Buyer beware the reviews claiming they received a used product are true, as can be seen in my photos.

> 3 dayYou will have white dust everywhere if you do not use one of these! I made that mistake by using unsuccessful homemade methods.

Greater than one weekIt’s ideal for not making a mess when putting in lights in an established home. You do need to clean it so you can see where to put the pilot bit.

> 3 dayWorks great! I expected a little dust to leak out while cutting the ceiling drywall for recessed lighting, but absolutely no dust came out. Bowl is flexible enough to allow for cutting all the way through drywall. Had a vacuum standing by to pick up dust but it wasnt needed. I would suggest, after cutting all the way through and pulling the plug down, leaving the bowl up against the ceiling to let the floating fog of dust thats within the bowl to settle down to the bottom. Great price for a great product.

Greater than one weekI tried a few similar items. This one is durable because it has a steel washer inserted into the bowl hole. the one i got with my bit at lowes was completely horrible, it did not really work at all. One tore apart at the hole. This one fits flush against the ceiling making a nice seal. I think people still need to be careful if they want to mitigate the dust. For example, you have to be prepared to do something with the drywall/dust/insulation particles that fills the bowl. I drilled the hole, carefully came down the ladder, unplugged the drill, and brought it outside! Then I dumped out the bowl, and drilled the next hole... :)

> 3 dayNever cut a hole for recessed lights before. Let alone a holes 6 inches across. If I had not had this product to help catch the sheet rock and insulation it would have been a huge mess. Did it catch everything ? No but it is light years ahead of just letting it fall all over the place.I would recommend it.
