Purchased the black tower in Jun 2020 for $70 to cool a very large loft room (~20 x ~25 space with 18 ceilings) to supplement ceiling fan & central AC. SHIPPING: It shipped directly in the Honeywell box. The box arrived a little beat up (e.g., a few creases in the cardboard) but not damaged (i.e., no holes or tears). Fan itself was perfectly fine, which is the important thing. ASSEMBLY: I unboxed my fan yesterday. No-tool set-up/assembly was extremely quick and easy. Remote requires 2 AAA batteries that are not included (I had some on hand). INITIAL IMPRESSIONS: Control panel is crisp and attractive. Body and base of fan are made of plastic. Pros of plastic: lightweight & can be moved easily with one hand. It seems pretty stable despite its lightweight materials. Con: I suppose plastic gives it a cheaper look but I wouldnt say it looks unattractive. Looks like most fans. *shrugs*. PERFORMANCE: I am so far EXTREMELY pleased with its performance. It circulates air throughout my large living room. I cant really hear anything from the fan on its three lowest settings, even when Im standing right next to it. It does start to make some noise by setting 4 - White Noise. This is probably an apt name for this setting. I dont find the noise distracting yet I can feel the breeze from 20 away. I crank the fan up to its higher settings when the afternoon sun hits my large windows and heats my apartment or when Im working out at home. Even at the higher settings the fan isnt terribly loud. Its not really any louder than my AC unit when that kicks on, even at its top setting. It blows cool air (perhaps because Im supplementing my AC with it) powerfully yet quietly. Power was probably more important to me than quiet but I am so pleased to have both. I can have the fan on while watching TV without needing to crank the volume. Plus, I can feel the breeze from my couch across the room even at a medium setting. Its a delight to use the fan to blow air directly at me during my workouts. This was my main motivation for making this purchase. REMOTE is simple but works from almost anywhere in my apartment as long as it has a straight connection with the sensor on the body of the fan. Cons: (1) Like a TV remote, there needs to be unobstructed space between the fan and remote for the remote to work. The connection between the fan and remote can be disrupted when the fan is oscillating, making the remote less reliable but the range is still pretty good. (2) Remote doesnt tell you what level the fan is on so if you are too far away to read the display panel on the fan its a guessing game. Overall: Would recommend. Very happy for my needs.

I dont think appliances should ever have blue/green/white/etc. lights on them. Why not red? Red wouldnt keep me awake at night. The blue light on this fan means it joins the air filter and the phone in my bedroom in being covered by a sock or a hat. Kind of silly. Seriously, why not just use red lights? This fan is also very tall, which means that if you are lying on the floor, the air might be too high to reach you. I had to tilt it with a book under the base in order for it to blow low enough for my purposes. The remote doesnt work well at all. This fan is very quiet on the lowest setting, and it has a nice range of settings.

I had this fan in my children’s room and smelled a burning plastic smell and it turned out to be the fan I bought a few months before. Didn’t last 6 months & when I asked for a replacement or refund I was told to contact the company not Amazon. No one helped me so we’re out $70 . Cant imagine what wouldve happened if I didn’t find this sooner .

I ordered this fan for an elderly family member and when I visited them they showed me the box the fan was received in. The entire corner of the box was damaged. When we opened the box, the fan looked like it had been used OR it was damaged during shipment. Furthermore, the oscillating option didnt work after putting the tower together. We returned the first one and promptly received the replacement. This fan is very easy to assemble and the amount of options for air output is incredible. The highest setting puts out a ton of air and the lower setting options are super quiet with plenty of air output, too. I think its best feature is the amount of space it doesnt take up. Very nice fan for a great price.

TLDR: Only used a few times, quit working. Warranty not worth the paper its written on. Amazon return time is only 30 days -- if buying, consider buying elsewhere (Target and Walmart, for example, both allow 90 days on this item) just in case yours stops working as quickly as mine did. ---- Bought this fan in April, proud of myself for this year preparing ahead of time for the hot summer heat! Had read all the reviews -- fan comes highly recommended. And indeed it looked great out of the box. Set it out and tried it once or twice, just to make sure I knew how to operate it, then awaited the summer heat. Summer arrived a few weeks later. The first hot night I happily switched on my new Honeywell tower fan and drifted off to sleep to a gentle breeze. Unfortunately I woke up drenched in sweat, with a fan that was still oscillating but blowing no air at all. Thought surely I had misunderstood some setting, maybe had accidentally hit the sleep button that would tell it to shut off after a few hours or something (but unclear why it would still be oscillating if that were the case). Scoured the manual, double checked all the settings, couldnt find anything mysterious, so decided to try again the next night. Again...gentle breeze when i went to bed...by morning a rotating tower blowing no air. This time I felt the sides of the tower and realized they were very warm to the touch. After a few more attempts (this time during waking hours so I could monitor) the same thing happened -- shuts off after not much time, sides warm to touch... Seems like the motor must be overheating after a certain timeframe, at which point it shuts off and stops blowing air. Checked the return time on Amazon -- should have done that before I bought. Has anyone else noticed those return windows getting shorter and shorter??? Turns out the return window is only 30 days, and by this point I was past that (thatll teach me not to prepare ahead of time!) FYI, other retailers offer much longer than that -- Target and Walmart, for example, both offer 90 day returns (with the added benefit of being able to walk the item into a store to return it, not having to package it up for shipping) So I checked the warranty. Evidently in order to make use of the Honeywell 1-year warranty, I have to package the item up, ship it at my expense to El Paso, for some reason still send THEM a $10 check for shipping and handling, and hope that eventually itll show up back at my doorstep (probably long after the summer heat has subsided...but maybe thats just me being pessimistic). And yes, I tried calling the 800 number -- the one listed on Amazon is incorrect, but the way...the guy on the other end listened politely to my plight, and then told me the number I called wasnt the one I needed to call for this product, and hung up before I could ask him for the proper number. A search on the Honeywell site led me to another number, but after several lengthly attempts trying to get through all the various phone prompts, I still hadnt reached anyone who could help me with this issue. So...might be a good choice in fans, assuming yours actually works! But just on the off chance you experience the same issue I did, if you decide to go with this fan at the very least make note of the return policy and consider buying elsewhere.

This thing is great! I love how many options of speed there are, and the range on the oscillation setting is massive, it truly reaches the whole room. I have this in my master room for air flow/cooling and also white noise at night, and it is super at both. The lowest setting is almost undetectably quiet but still puts out a good bit of air flow. The highest setting is pretty dang powerful for such a small fan, with a still very quiet sound, and really truly cools down the room (doesn’t just move air), or at least feels like it. It’s honestly almost not loud enough, my last fan was way loud so I was used to it. I LOVE the option on top to turn down the light on the display; it can dim it to three or four different levels, the lowest being off- which is super nice for at night. The remote is cool, I need to get batteries for it but it seems convenient. Installation was the easiest ever, you just unscrew the red thing from the base, snap the two base pieces together w/ the cord in the middle, and screw the red thing all the way down. Took like 30 seconds. It looks super nice also, it’s super lightweight but doesn’t look cheap. Hoping it lasts a long long time! 10/10 recommend!

Overall, I love this fan. It is very quite on low settings, and does increase slightly as you turn it up ( 8 fan settings ) But, Its not bad. I purchased a regular pedistal fan before I found this one that sounds like a jet engine taking off! So the Honeywell one is not noisy at all. I love white noise at night anyway! The Cons and reason for 4 stars vs 5: I dont like the generic remote control. The remote should have all the same features as the fan itself! This one is on/off, reciprocate and fan speed only. If you use it in the bedroom and dont like bright blue lights, the remote is no good. You have to manually turn the blue light off at the fan. And, anytime you make an adjustment to the speed or anything else, the blue light comes back on. Also, once you turn the fan off, it doesnt remember your settings other than the fan speed (the blue light comes on, if you like it to reciprocate, you have to set that up again) . The work around... I set the fan up the way I like it prior to getting into bed at night and hope that I dont need to adjust it during the night.

The fan is fine BUT the base will not get tight because the watcher or what ever you call it will not tighten up it turns some and then just locks

Really pleased with this portable unit. It is quiet and has nice controls that are easy to use/push/set to your needs. Slim design means it does not take up space - mine sits right next to the kitchen island for use in the kitchen. No remote control but not needed for my use. 5 star.
