HP 15-dy1036nr 10th Gen Intel Core i5-1035G1, 15.6-Inch FHD Laptop, Natural Silver

First and foremost I need to state that I am NOT a computer geek so my review is going to be pretty much for those looking for basic thoughts on this laptop. I use this laptop for working at home on Zoom and FB Live often. What I have found that are an inconvenience to my are most likely minor to most but for me a bit more than inconvenient.

So glad I ordered it, very satisfied !

Do not purchase this laptop!!

The internal specs seem good on paper but the build quality is not good, keyboard click feels cheap and the mouse pad is terrible, it’s off balance and does not sit steady on the table, now a days when buying a Laptop we want for the hardware be at least built to feel sturdy not like it was just for selling another computer.

Horribly designed for venting. It’s loud and overheats frequently. Sleep mode is more like Sleeping Beauty mode because it refuses to wake up unless a prince kisses it (aka you reboot). Battery died not long after purchase. It worked great when it decided to but was very unreliable. Disappointed in HP who is usually pretty good.

At first, everything worked perfectly! I thought it was a GREAT value for the money. Fast forward 5 months later, the network adapter malfunctioned for no apparent reason, conveniently after the software warranty expired (3 months). Thankfully I purchased the warranty option with asurion but there is still an out of pocket cost which doesnt make me happy AT ALL (since the laptop is basically brand new), plus getting it repaired is such a hassle.

i bought this laptop for college and it has been amazing. battery life is wonderful and the screen quality is outstanding! i was shocked about the touchscreen because the description didn’t say anything about it but it’s the perfect laptop.

Battery does not stay on longer than 3 hours. Had to contact HP for a new one
