Its. Printer. Ink. All it has to do is squirt. OTOH, HP has this chip that says the ink is expired perhaps a year after you buy it…SO DONT STOCK UP more than you need for maybe three months. You buy this stuff online at the lowest price and maybe its a lot closer to expiration than the stuff you get at Staples. At least at Staples you can flip the package over and see the expiration date. Caveat emptor.

According to my HP Officejet Pro 8610, the ink is genuine HP ink. The expiration date on all three packages of ink were for early 2019. It is now May 2017.

Genuine HP cartridges are what HP naturally recommends. Their cartridges are always very pricey, but once youve bought the printer, youre kind of locked in. I find it worthwhile to get the extra large (XL) cartridges.

Hp ink cartridges always work best on my Hp inkjet

Ive owned an HP Officjet Pro 8100 for several years, and it has always been a good, solid, reliable and economical printer. These XL cartridges last a long time and Ive had very few issues. However, this latest time I purchased these cartridges, they are no longer recognized by the printer (an Incompatible message shows in the software), so they dont work. Simple as that. Very frustrating, actually. Ive purchased two different sets from two different vendors - one made in China, one made in Ireland. Neither worked so I returned them both. Unfortunately this means Ill have to get rid of what, up until a couple of weeks ago, was a great printer.

I used to be constantly replacing ink cartridges in my printer, but the XLs last so much longer I dont feel that way anymore. Yes, more expensive but were mostly paying for packaging, so there is a price break. Id give it 5 stars except I think ink in general is too expensive.
