Greater than one weekThis works well and installs easily, but be careful when using on interior doors. Exterior doors, the inside and outside handle generally operate independently, but on interior doors the inside handle and outside handles move in tandem. I installed this and set it in the locked position with the door open. My little one wasnt home so I didnt close the door. Later, I went to use the restroom that this lock was protecting, and even though no one was home I closed the door behind me out of habit. When I went to exit, I couldnt, and the outside handle was blocked by this device and the inside handle cant turn if the outside handle cant turn. After mulling over my options and deciding to go hulk mode on the handle, it dawned on me that my bathroom has french doors. :) So luckily in my case I just released the lock on the second floor and pulled the doors open. But if it were a single door, hulk smash indeed. My only wish for this item were if there were a second model for exterior doors that had a spring loaded auto lock option, in which the device would always return to the locked position. Reason being, we have a heavy traffic home, and people are constantly coming and going. When people leave, its easy to forget to open the door, set the lock, then exit, so the child lock stays engaged after you leave, meaning the door is often times left unlocked when people exiting forget to do this. So we have gotten into the habit of checking it throughout the day. If it had some sort of spring loaded with soft auto lock, people could exit and it could return to a locked position automatically. Obviously this would only work for exterior doors or doors in which the inside and outside handles can be operated independently and dont move in tandem.

> 3 dayMy suggestion, as others have mentioned, is to put these bad boys on upside-down so that the part that does not move is below the handle. Our little one is juuuust tall enough to pull down on the handles. This stops him without us having to fully lock the handle in place. We just turn the handle up. Only sort of bad thing is the handle just barely fits past the lock mechanism when it is unlocked. So if you have fancy door handles, measure those bad boys for clearance. Very happy with them and will be ordering more. They do what they say they do.

> 3 dayYup, I got a salon cat that likes to eat all the food on the floor. We are talking food for SALE! So, this really helps. I found that the commercial handles I have will open from the other side even tho one of these items is on the other side. The handle that is still flexing allows us to activate the white child proof on the outside of the door and then close it going into the room you dont want the animal to access and not be able to go in and out of areas you want to keep on lock down. Check your knobs before applying the sticker, I found I had to move a couple to the opposite side of the door. Just locking the inside one allowed the outside handle with no safety on it to still be opened. Who knew! Now you know. Worked great. The sticky is seriously strong. Dont push it down too hard if you might have to move it due to mistake.

> 3 dayMy granddaughter is 2 and quicker than a blink. I use these locks on every door except her room. It keeps her from being sneaky (shes really good at hide and seek) and from catastrophe. Extremely easy to use and child proof for her and not the rest of the household! Definitely recommend!!
