Soul meets country meets Latin music. The Mavericks are multi-talented and this CD is proof of that. If you love country, this is a CD for you. None of the pop/bubble gum country here. Just pure heartfelt, soulful, danceable songs that will make a fan of The Mavericks if youre not already one.

Not a bad song on it - Raul Mano outdoes himself here - voice is still great - after listening to this album many times I had the opportunity to see them live in concert - played for 2-1/2 hours - was one of the best concerts I have ever been too!

Having been a fan of The Mavs for 20 years, and a big fan of lead singer, Raul Malo, during his solo years after the band broke up, I was pretty excited when I heard about their reunion. I expected to like the new tunes. I did not expect it to blow me away. This album of genre bending music is off the charts. The eclectic mix of retro rock/alt country with an undercurrent of Latin/Tex-Mex is an amazing collection of songs. Even though the main theme is heartbreak, the album has a mostly uplifting sound. It is impossible to sit quietly while listening. Rauls vocals are richer than ever...in fact, I believe he is the finest male vocalist ever. The band is amazingly tight. The accordian playing (by Michael Guerra) is outstanding and enhances the music. I purchased both the CD and vinyl album and I really love the organic sound, particularly in the vinyl. Cannot wait until the tour begins. 10 stars! l

.... Im really excited about In Time by The Mavericks and will be purchasing the CD, being a longtime fan.... However, 5 of the 14 cuts were included on the Suited Up and Ready EP which I downloaded in January... so though you may not see it this way.... youre asking me to buy some of the same songs twice.... which is very unfair... especially in hard times like these.... but it is the Mavericks, so Im not as angry as I could be.

Everything youd expect from the Mavericks and one of the best voices in the industry, Raul Malo. The Mavericks have never been easy to categorize and this cd makes that even more difficult. From beautiful ballads, to Tejano that pulls you to your feet and makes you want to dance. Heres hoping they dont wait so long before their next release.
