> 3 dayOrder this hole puncher to secure a thick water resistant cotton tarp around my chickens coop using nylon cable ties. Instead of using another sharp instrument, which causes ragged tears, this punch allowed me to make the holes exactly where needed and through multiple layers of material. The holes are neat and there are no loose threads visible. I can see this working well with vinyl, plastic and other soft materials for a multitude of uses.

> 3 dayI was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this hole punch. It seems very well made and sturdy. The jaws and punches are designed so that the rotating wheel is automatically centered when the punch is pressed down. The bottom plate is adjustable so it can match the selected hole size and be set to line up correctly with the punches as well. It also has an adjustable depth gauge and an adjustable stop to prevent the punch from opening too far and accidentally changing the selected punch. Perhaps other rotating punches have some of these same features, this is the first one Ive owned so I couldnt say - but I can say Im quite pleased with this one. I tested it on a small strip of tooling leather I had lying around and learned about all of its features. It makes holes of six different sizes - from 2.0mm to 4.5mm in increments of 0.5mm. Match the punch and bottom plate correctly and you can make some nice clean holes with this punch.

> 3 dayIncredible! Like punching through butter! Takes the work out of punching. I was more than pleasantly surprised with the sharp cut through .085 leather right out of the box. Overall, the tool is heavy and well built. The handles are hefty, comfortable and operate with such ease its amazing. It feels good to squeeze this punch and watch how easy it goes through the heavy material. I think you could punch holes all day and not hurt your hands. Ive had several leather punches over the years and never really had much luck with them. I always resorted to punch and die style, but this is so much easier and takes up less space, too. Theres even a little holder in the handle for the allen wrench. The wrench stays out of the way and you can keep it stored there during use without any obstruction. Not to mention trying to keep it together in your tool box. Brilliant design addition! I wish more tools would do this. Small problem - no instructions included. If you look closely there are numbers on the top punch wheel and numbers on the lower plate. Youll simply loosen the screws and turn the hole device and then match up the same size hole in the plate. Simple but it took me a minute to figure out. Instructions would be good for someone using a tool like this for the first time. Im impressed! I hope it stays sharp as it doesnt appear you can get a replacement wheel for the holes if they need sharpening. Unfortunately, that makes it disposable. I dont do leather work on a constant basis, so I think Ill have this for a long time. My Dad does leather working as a consistent hobby and he was so impressed I had to leave this with him and buy another for myself. The price is great for a hand tool that takes the work out of punching. Must have for any tool box!

24-11-2024This leather hole punch feels very solid and heavy duty. The handle area opens nearly too wide for my small, female hands to grip unless it’s at least halfway closed. No instructions are included, which would have been helpful for me, since I’m new to this type of tool and since there are several places on it to make adjustments that I don’t necessarily understand intuitively. The single photo of instructions found here on the product page are still a little over my non-mechanical head, but they’re better than nothing. Still, I had to ask my husband to figure out how to make adjustments and even spin the main selection wheel. Now that I know how to adjust it, this tool is fairly easy for me to operate (other than the wide grip). You’ll want to learn to select the puncher you want, select the hole size the puncher will press thru, and adjust the spacer bar for uniformity. An included Allen Wrench is cleverly stored on the handle for making certain adjustments. I own a lot of leather chokers and fashion harnesses that can’t be tightened enough to properly fit me using the provided holes, so I was eager to make new holes safely and efficiently with this tool as opposed to attempting some creative, risky endeavor I might concoct otherwise. Thankfully, this item works perfectly, and I punched all the holes I was wanting to. I know I’ll need it again in the future, so I’m glad I’ll have it so readily available. Overall, this is a fantastic leather hole puncher (in my novice opinion) that only really needs some clear instructions and maybe some accommodation for smaller hands.

Greater than one weekIt takes strength and a lot of squeezing pressure to punch holes in a quality mens leather belt, which typically has 2 layers of leather. All the punches I had bought in the past were not strong enough for the job and would bend out of shape very quickly. I had nearly given up, but decided to give this one a try thanks to Amazons return policy. But this one is a keeper. It is very well-made with sturdy metal parts. I punched 2 dozen clean holes in heavy leather belts with relative ease.

24-11-2024Nice tool. Love the variety of sizes it has. I have one already but has been misplaced and needed another one. I have an Apple Watch and I want my son to wear it so I figured to go ahead and just hole punch into a band to endure a good fit. Plus I to make sure he doesn’t lose it. Great for wide variety of things.

> 3 dayI am very pleased with all of the quality features of this hand operated hole punch. Many of the hole punches I have used in the past have been sharpened hollow tubes that cut through the material forcing the “hole” up through the tube while pressing the sharpened edge against a flat surface (usually of solid metal). This often results in a slightly frayed edge on the hole where part of the sharpened edge didn’t quite touch the surface. And this only gets worse with more use because the blade gets dulled by being pressed against the supporting surface. This hole punch operates differently: the beveled punch head cuts through the material at a dual angle (which helps maintain a straight edged cut) and then pushes the “hole” down through a matching hole in the supporting surface in a scissoring action and forcing the waste “hole” freely out of the tool. Each of the “punch” sizes has a matching “hole” that avoids any metal to metal contact - the punch slides freely through the matching hole - thus preventing any dulling of the punch caused by the working of the tool itself. There is, also, an adjustable throat depth guide to keep a series of holes spaced exactly the same distance away from the guide edge. This is an exceptionally well designed tool.
